Hello, I've done a search but not managed to find a thread on this so please point me in the right direction if it's been covered.

I've got a RNS-E with the AMI iPod interface and everything works great apart from the Random order "Mix" setting which I have to manually select at the start of every trip.

Basically if you select a play list, then select "Mix" to get random playing of tracks when you stop turn the ignition off and re-start the "Mix" is no longer selected.

Is there any way to keep "Mix" on? a firmware update or something?

Regards Gareth

What FW is currently on the rns-e, goto the car screen & show pic of that screen, as there's an fw update on latest dvd's, but thats not to say that will fix this issue.

Thanks again,

Damn thats an old dvd & firmware, newest has 0220 fw & BE DVD.

Ok, just got the 2013 DVD and inserted it, now reading:

SW: 0070
HW: H02

The maps are updated but it did not auto update the firmware to 0220, anyone know if you can force it?

Yeah would need to goto into rns adaptation channel & enable the software upgrade option.

Tried Various Disks and now managed to get:-

SW: 0200
HW: H02
MAP: 8P0919884_AJ_EUW

Car went for a service this week and I asked Audi to update the software, they did not understand what I was talking about, so I explained a few different ways. The end result "we cannot update the software sir".

Not 100% sure that is correct, so can anyone point me at the version of the firmware on each of the CDs so that I can simply purchase the latest one to get to 0220.

Lastly does anyone else notice the "Mix" option is not static i.e. if you Select iPOD Mix for tracks you have to select it for every journey it does not stay on after you turn the engine off and back on again.

Regards Gareth

Its a fair standard reply by them, as sometimes updating firmware & still using an older dvd, will not allow the system to work, in your scenario it should be fine, but they probably just don't need the hassle should things go wrong, so kind of infuses you to buy the newer dvd which will update fine & work without any such issues.

Same for me on latest rns-e firmware. Same thing happened to me on basic IPod interface with concert II+ in previous A3 - my old 56 plate A3 with single din concert II always remembered the random setting so I suppose we a a victim of progress...

Thanks Both, finally got 0220 Firmware installed, no change same fault.

I did raise an enhancement request to Audi a few months back, they passed it on to the engineers if anyone else wants to raise the same request and add a comment here are the contact details I used:-
