RNSE advice needed :)

Hi All,

I have fitted my RNSE G version. I have read on here that you need to move pins around for BOSE speakers to work. I have just plugged it in to test and havent moved any wires and all is working well.

Does anyone know why you need to move that cable? (Does it increase the quality of the music)

Does anyone have a link to the coding i need to make it work and be able to use the two buttons on the steering wheel. MODE button and the Voice one.

Any help would be great.

You have to move the Bose pin from B5 to B7, if you don't I think you will still get audio but the Bose system won't be active so it won't sound as good (apparently, I've never tried it with the pin in the wrong place).

The other pins that are in the wrong place all relate to the AUX input, if you don't plan on using it then it is safe to leave them alone and just move the Bose pin.

If you use VCDS to code it then you should get a helper screen pop up that shows all of the options - make sure you choose an option with MFSW and then the buttons should work.

I moved my BOSE pin and later pulled the pin out. Made no difference whatsoever to the sound ! All coded correctly as well see below

I'm a bit confused as I've recently fitted an rnse to my Audi but I moved the Bose wires in the quadlock which was deeper in the car. I couldn't find the wire in the quad lock which fits in the actual stereo. I had no sound at all before moving the wires. All seems to be working okay.

I didn't move my BOSE wire when fitting mine and I'm pretty sure its working.
Too much bass most of the time!
Didn't move the AUX either but haven't checked it since.

Yeah the sound is quality but currently AUX isnt working, Im Hoping to fix that soon

I'm pretty sure there is a difference in sound quality if you don't move the pin, I had this on a couple of cars I fitted RNSE into. The difference to some can sound minimal, but to my ear there is definitely an extra clarity in the sound, especially at higher volumes when it is moved to the correct position.

I had mine fitted professionally. Al pins moved to the right locations and this was on my A3 which was 2 hours old.

Sounded dreadful very flat, no bass as if all of the EQ level were flat. Whipped the Bose wire out and it sprang to life. Loads of bass and I could hear the sub working away in the boot. Plugged it back in and it made no difference so left it out. I also have the luxury of comparing this to m wife A3 which is none Bose.

Ahh ok, Im having a car day today so im going to move the bose wire and see if i can notice any difference in sound. Does anyone have any pics of which wires go where? I have had a search but i think im not very good at searching

Thanks alot for that I have had my RNSE unit out and have swapped over the BOSE cable and can hear a difference in the quality not much though. Just need to sort out AUX next

No problem...

Will be sending out your Bluetooth system today pal. Have also popped a 32pin connector in there for you as well
