Jeans staining the red leather

We've got red Nappa leather in our A3 cabby and its already showing signs of blue denim staining on the edges of the seats, after only 3mths from new.

What's a good product to get this off, and maybe to protect again it?

baby wipes is a no go mate due too the alkaline used in them to neutralise the acidity in urine. The alkaline will eventually soften and break down the leathers protective finish leaving the colour exposed, which will then come off and once your at that stage the only way too solve the problem is recolour and refinish the leather. The best way too prolong the life of your leather is too use the correct products for cleaning, removing stains and dye transfer ect. That way your safely removing without damaging the leathers finish or colour.

Thats a solution, just make sure they dont have zips, buckles or buttons on the back, or you will scratch the leather as well, lmao. X

Well I used olive oil to get gloss of my red leather trim, read it on tinternet, worked a treat, I would say there are tailored products out there but this worked a treat so may do the job!

Did the oil itself not stain tho? I guess it makes sense as gloss is oil-based too so the olive oil probably lossened the gloss enough to wipe off, but fabric dye is not oil based as far as i know.

I use Pampers baby wipes all the time on my seats as I was informed that they contained nothing harmful and that the Lanolin contained in them was perfect for keeping the leather soft and crack-free. Is this duff-gen then???

There are many types on babe wipes available on the market and the chemicals used in them can vary but fundamentally there there too do the same job which is balance the ph levels (neutralise). It's these same chemicals that will soften and eventually break down the leathers finish which will leave the colour exposed and that's when you'll start too have problems with colour loss and cracking/peeling ect, that's why it's always best too use the correct products for the job not just too clean and protect but also too prolong the life and appearance of your leather.
