Finally, after seven weeks of ownership, I've seen another A3 on the road.

No longer feel unique :(

Haha, I have seen a couple, Daytona grey in Lichfield a couple of weeks ago and a black s-line on the m6 in brum last week. It won't be long before they are as common as the 8p :whistle2:

if it wasn't an S-Line you get to keep uniqueness !!! I've seen what I think might have been a sport! Couldn't get close enough to check!

.

Was dark and it came up behind me and turned off whilst I was on a large roundabout so couldn't tell what it was exactly. Then again it had Xenons so, unless he added them, it was probably an S-Line. It was the DRLs that gave it away instantly as it came up in my mirrors :)

The one in Lichfield would be me!

Do you remember what day?

I was parking up in an empty multi story car park last week, as I walked away I see another white 2012 audi a3 park opposite my car. Wasnt sure if I should be happy or disappointed that I no longer had the new A3 in the village lol

hah! so it was!
what a small world we live in lol

Just to correct my previous post:
"The only new A3 in the village."

indeedy!! my kids where moaning at me as i kept on driving up and up the levels past spaces to find an empty floor, to park as far away from the parking idiots as possible lol

Mark.

I *always* park as far away from everyone else as possible - my gf hates it but then she can lump it or get the bus! :p

Have you noticed though when you do that some tit still comes and parks next to you!!!! You have an empty car park yet you still go park next to me !!! Grrrr 😃

and vimy before you say that's what I did lol , I left at lest 5 spaces in between us !!!!

Haha I love the tactic of finding an empty floor or a good group of empty spaces together to park in. I try to do that like you say to keep away from the parking idiots. But then yes more than likely you come back and theres 30 spaces on that floor yet someone decided to park next to you. Perhaps they were lonely lol?

Although another tactic a friend of mine adopts if there are no such spaces, park next to (preferably inbetween 2) cars nicer than yours. Or at least equally as nice. Less chance of them getting doors slammed open onto them then :) Always worked a treat for me that one and also you get to look at another nice car and how your car looks next to it :p :)

Ah I know this tactic too well! I purposely go all the way to the top so its parked next to no one.. and then when I'm back theres some 'tit' thats parked beside my bay.. out of the dozens of free bays on that very floor! WHY?!?!?!?

Mark.. thats what you did! XD lol
(joke, you were miles away)

What I used to do sometimes is park in the second from last bay to the wall but overlap a little into the last bay so no one goes into it. That way theres no space for someone to get in and theres space on the other side for idiots that cant open a door safely without denting mine. However I stopped doing this when I came back once to see someone had actually squeezed their car in the last bay, almost had a heart attack lol.

i used to do that too, but as you say you still get some tit thinking they can get in there!!!!

There's no joy like the joy you feel when you find a space by itself, with loads of clearance on either side :)

Years ago in my Lotus days, in half empty car parks I used to straddle two spaces. I felt guilty, but confident of a scratch and dent free experience on my return :-0

Parking sideways across two spaces usually works ;) It's basically a two-finger salute to those idiots that are texting while parking. Maybe it's because my car is black but those dings and a scuff the length of the rear door is so noticeable. So frustrating. I'll now do whatever I can to stop it.

I'll often take up two spaces, but only when the car park is fairly empty so I'm not taking up a valuable space. Doing that when spaces are at a premium isn't very polite really :)

I've never done that, I'd be worried someone would get the hump and take it out on the car!!! you'd return to a lovely keyed car :(

Yeah that's why I'll only do it in a virtually empty car park as it doesn't really matter. If you took up two spaces when they're at a premium then yeah, you're asking for trouble.
