Is there anybody on here who will do this (supply and fit the parts) obviously for a cost? I have just bought an a4 as ive just had a child and the m3 wanst very child friendly and ive seen these get retro fitted but i just dont have the time to do it, thanks for any help :)

Hi, welcome to audi-sport.net. Where are you located? Nigel (user NHN) supplies and fits rnse, he has a great reputation and his work is 1st class. He does travel to do this kind of work, but it depends on your location. Send him a pm and he will discuss with you. Enjoy the forum. :) x

I can highly recommend NHN ( Nigel ), he has done some work on my S4 recently including fiiting rnse, if he doesnt reply to your pm straight away its because he could be off line for xmas and new year but as soon as he's back im sure he'll reply asap. First class job.

Do you have a single or double din radio in the car? If you have a double din radio already the RNS-E will be plug and play and can be fitted in 5 minutes. If single din parts needed will be a double din cage, new climate control unit (or cut the single din one down to fit in the lower position) a new center console or trim your single din one as well, a RNS-E wiring kit, an RNS-E and about 2-3 hours to change it all over. Its not that hard to replace it all, i cut all my bits and looks fine. I was lucky and got all my bits cheap including the RNS-E and managed to do it all for £160
You need to be confident with stripping you interior as it can be abit scary when you reach this stage!

But its an achievement when done.

I would be more than capable to do it myself, was only asking for outside help because i have no idea what parts to use or how to code it in to the cluster, my radio is the concert 2 according to the face of it, just a single one with cd slot. If i could get the parts for that price i would have it fitted tomorrow lol ive only seen the unit for a good few hundred never mind the rest of the stuff i need

I think the cheapest I have seen an RNS-E for is around £400. I bought mine from a member on here for £130 as it wasn't reading DVDs for the satnav but I managed to get it working. The cage is £45 from Audi or can sometimes get them cheaper on eBay and the harness is around £10 on ebay. Obviously if you don't cut the climate panel and you buy a new one there around £100+. Was lucky as mine was out a cabriolet with the same features as mine so it didn't need any coding.

I will be trimming my climate pannel down if its possible. So all i need is the double cage, rnse unit and the wiring adapter? Then get it coded yes?

You'll also need a GPS hockey puck antenna, and an antenna adapter too - the RNS-E has a double Fakra for the antenna inputs.

There is a kit i seen on ebay for 30 that has everything you need (apparently) except the double cage and the rnse itself, it has the wiring adapters, antenna, jeys for removing the radio and sure it said summit else i dont rememba what lol is it essential to get it coded once fitted?

yup thats everything you need wiring wise, then all you need is the cage from audi and an RNS-E and your good to go. As for coding, i think it needs coding when fitted to different cars whih have different spec, for example having nav show up on your DIS and if you have a MFSW and CD changer etc you need to code the RNS to recodnise these things, it could just work straight away if your lucky like i was

Thanks for your help lads, feel fairly good about rattling this off now, just need to find a cheap rnse cos am i balls payin 600 for one lol
