Is there a reason the power steering line across the firewall is so long and shaped the way it is.

I want to cut it out and re route it across the front of the engine using a rubber hose instead of the steel line.

Good idea or not so good idea ?

Maybe I should of worded the topic differently

Im not too worried about the length, I just want it out the way. Life would be so much easier and I could finished my build sooner.

Would I be correct in assuming there is no pressure in the hard line.

There is pressure on the line going from the PS pump to the rack but not in the return IIRC... this is a hardline and zig zags all over the place to act as a 'cooler'
