If I would do a stage 2 remap on my Audi S3(with already installed induction kit and decat) with superchips bluefin, I would gain 52 bhp and 81nm in torque acoording to superchips webpage, what would be my time 0-100?

How long is a piece of string???? The answer to the question will be known when you do it as everyones time would be different due to road conditions, climate, tyre pressures, driver error etc etc. Let us know when you do it.

Ok I agree, let me rephrase myself would it be under 5.0 sec?

Some of the online calculators aren't far off,and going from past experience with other cars,I doubt it would be much below 5s.

Don't worry too much about traffic light drag times....the midrange torque is what it's all about.

I'd be happy with 4,9 sec or 5.0, I know 431 nm of torque is spectacular for me, I'm a newbie :D I just hope my clutch and flywheel will endure this torque..

DUal mass flywheel is surprisingly robust, but the stock clutch isn't.

I would budget on a replacement at some stage.

5 secs for 0-100 mph? That's Veyron performance, thought it would be closer to the 13 sec mark....

I think he's talking 0-100kph...if he's not,he's going to be disappointed.

With what appears to be early 300's bhp wise I would guess at early 5's.

This is a guessing game isn't it? :w00t:

try it and your clutch will say goodbye :D
these cars are little rockets after remap. stage 2 should put it around 5sec, but stage 2+ would take it under 5sec.
people seem to be surprised when little a3 passes them in their high performance cars..
but as i said if you do launches then your clutch will give up. if you drive it properly it will last long enough.
but i must say that i actually like how it pulls in higer gears, at higher speeds, it just keeps going, amazing little machine.

As I think we've all said, the stock clutch is pretty poor.

For up to Stg2+,the Sachs or Loba are very good choices but both still need to be treated with some respect.

If you need to do the traffic light drag or run a lot if torque then a single mass flywheel and industrial grade clutch like the Spec or Southbend would be the best choice.

The gearbox also needs a bit of respect if its going to last but will handle a lot of torque if you do.

Basically build it right, treat it right and it will last.

My car is bluefin stage 2, and my mate plugged this device into it to measure my 0-60 times and the best I got was 4.9

Are the bluefin modules recommended, superchips used to have a dubious rep, I know custom map is preferable?

Bluefin is tame go Revo and you'll get 330-340 with the same specced car
I think that Revo Stg2 and Bluefin Stg2 are the same in gaining bhp, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I like Bluefin more because its'a DIY, and for Revo I have to take it to a Revo Dealer, I don't like this.. :/

what more could a man want with stage 2, I'd be very much happy with this time.. :) Did you get an intake and a decat?

That's true, although each has it's advantages and disadvantages......the Bluefin you essentially load yourself, whereas the Revo is more customisable, and with the SPS,you have the ability to change or customise settings for boost and timing(assuming you know what you're up to!).
All of the maps have differences, and it does at least allow us all to find a software route that suits,as well as an upgrade path if you want that.

Did you get a CEL when you have putted the sports cat, and does the bluefin software solves this problem , or lambda spacers are required??
And what if I decide later on to put Bluefin stage 3 software, do I need to pay another 400 pounds because Stg2 and 3 cost the same..?

What's a CEL? Nope I just fitted the sports cat, paid £50 to upgrade to the stage 2 map! If you want to upgrade to stage 3 you will have to pay £50 for the map then the relevant hardware

My CEL came on the day after fitting the stage 2 hardware - once I loaded the stage 2 blufin map it disappeared ...

CEL is a check engine light on the dash, when a cat is not functioning properly or is not there at all, when you put a sport cat or a decat, but the stage 2 map solves this problem, so the man says in the upper post.. And about the price, the question was stage 2 map costs 415 pounds and stage 3 map (if I put the needed hardware and decide to go to stage 3) costs the same 415 pounds, how much do I need to pay if I later on decide to go from stage 2 to stage 3? again 415 pounds or??

why don't you ask bluefin directly? i guess it shouldn't be full remap price as you allready have their stage 2.
i think that revo charges 50 from stage 2 to stage 2+, so i guess it should be similar...

I'm very surprised that a Stage 2 or 2+ S3 doesn't do low 4s?? Maybe it just needs to be launched hard?
RS3 can do 3.8 stock and Lancer Evolutions are around 4.4 stock.
A mapped FWD GTI/A3 2.0T DSG can do mid-high 5s on a good day.

I sent them an email, but they didn't work during the holidays, I'm expecting a reply from them shortly..

It's really not worth getting obsessed with 0-60 times as it ends in tears every time.

Either wrecked drivetrains or my cars not as fast as it should be......

As long as its roughly right, the rest comes down to how hard it's launched and a host of other factors likes tyres, road conditions, etc etc

what is your 0-60 time with 500 bhp?

To be absolutely honest,I couldn't tell you.

What I can say is that if you give an M5 or one of the big AMGs a head start,it will catch them.

Porsche Carreras are not a problem either although a turbo is more troublesome, and a stock GTR will not outrun it.

The GpN Escort I had was a 3odd s car and this feels as quick.

The reason I don't go in for drag style runs is to preserve the gearbox as the clutch is strong enough, but I wouldn't place quite the same faith in the box for standing starts.....rolling starts are a different matter.

If it helps at all, i ran 2 runs on the 1/4 mile strip in my manual 2+ S3 at Gti in 2011 with newish Sachs Organic clutch, and having NEVER launched HARD before, on my second run i ran 4.8 0-60 and then stopped. I can't flat shift (didn't even try) and only launched at 4k rpm.

The DSG will launch better as its got launch control (hence why the Rs3 is a quick 0-60 car) and if it has the DSG software, it will change way faster than most mere mortals can change a manual. At the 30-130 event i did in 2010 with the fastest shift i could manage not flat shifting according to my graphs was somewhere near 0.4 seconds.

As Alex says, I really wouldnt get hung up on 0-60 and focus more on mid range power. Even at Gti in my two runs i damaged my shifter/selector and stopped imediately. It ALWAYS ends in tears!

on that same good day mapped s3 will do low 4.
i think ian did 3.8 with his stage 1 s-tronic s3.

19's alloys and oem clutch S3 stage1 5.5s
17s alloys -//- 5.3s

When i installed LOBA/Sachs i already had stage2 map and some problems,
so i went back to stage1 map and had some 0-60 runs, the best was 5.1s which i was surprised!

Now i have SKN Custom stage2 map which is set (maximized) to 365HP,the last dyno showed 341HP 500NM before i installed
Autotech HPFP and the best result was 4.3s with damaged lower torque mount!
Now with Autotech and all new mounts the car feels alot more stronger and fast from the start,it really unlocked the full map potention,
so i believe that numbers can get a little more low than 4.3s :)
