2007 V10 S6 tyre recommendations?

Looking for some inspiration on tyre choice for my '07 V10 S6.

Obvious choices are:
Michelin SSport or PS3's
Conti Sport Contact 5P
Goodyear Fl Aym 2
PZero's.

Anyone with some real life experience of the above?

I'm running Conti SC 3 just now and am happy but reading reviews it seems the Goodyear and Michelin might be better????

I've got Bridgestone Potenzas on my S6 wheels, 265/35/19, and in the dry there brilliant, in the wet there probably 2nd behind Pzeros I had on my A4.

On a side note, what pressures do you run your tyres at? I have mine at 34 all round, which I'm sure is too low, but when I put them up to 36, the front end would wash out and feel very understeery.

My mate had Bridgestone Potenza's when he was on standard rims. He says they were very good. Grip was good in wet or dry, he ran 34/35 and said he experienced understeer but think the S6 is a naturally understeering car.

These tyres are actually for sale if anyones interested.

Michelin's are up there with the best Premium tyres available , my own personal choice.

39 psi. Infact I'd spent an age trying to find the best pressure for the tyre and eventually tried higher (as high as 42 psi) but have eventually found 39 is pretty steady.

No problems with understeer or the front end but maybe I've not been trying hard enough! But that may be a feature of the tyre (mine = Cont Sport 3).

If the front end is an issue you could try a lower pressure at the front relative to the rear?

I'll give 39 a go then. Thanks for that. I thought 34 was too low. I know the S6 is about 200kg heavier on the front end than my 3.2, so if it is a bit understeery, I'll try dropping the front down a bit to compensate.

I run Vredestein Sessantas on my 3.0 TDI avant (possibly similar in weight to the V10?), and found them to be really good (good grip in wet and dry, low noise, and amazing price!), but am very tempted to try some Goodyear Asymmetric 2's for the next set, as they seem to get universally great reviews.

As for those tyre pressures... 34 is crazy low for that size/profile... I run 45 on the front and 40-45 at the back (depending on what's in the boot), but I opted to sort out the understeer situation by fitting dirty great anti-roll bars

Dunlop Sp Sport maxx Gt are good, Pirelli are good but seem to wear out fast.

I ended up buying the Michelin SuperSport's.

Not had much running since then but initial thoughts are very good. Also - they are ridiculously light tyres!

Update: the Supersport's are excellent. Not only has the lightness of the tyre improved the handling/steering a fair bit but the grip as you can imagine is awesome. They've got a very reliable feel in all conditions and never give the impression of being "twitching on the edge" when you are pushing it even in wet conditions. Simply put I've not managed to find the limits yet.

Only one downside - can be very noisey. On a good road you wouldn't notice any difference over say a Conti SC3 but if the surfaces are less than good they start to shout a bit. In particular a concrete roadway, no matter how good, will give you nearly unbearable road noise. Bear this in mind if you'd be travelling on this regularly.

Wear rate seems good.
