hey guy i got a quick question,
this may have been answered before but i cant find it on the forum

what is the difference between the double din cage with part numbers:
8P0 858 005 A
8P0 858 005 C
8P0 858 005 D

Thank You

What the difference is I don't know but doubt if there is any in practical terms.

Version 'A' was dropped on 01/07/2007 and version 'D' was designated as the replacement.

No doubt 'C' fitted in the middle somewhere !!

im just thinking if it had different cages for the non electronic climate control unit

C has a PR code that notes manual heater system, but 1 of them had a slightly different plastic frame for the hazard button that needed trimming, I'm sure D is the one you need, I always forget lol.

thank you, seems like i need the D version after all as i have an electronic climate controls, btw can you still get the A version or can i only get the D version now?

You can get C and D but not A as that was superseded as stated in my previous post !

You need 'D'

Yes all DD cages support all the dd parts associated with with the possible C needs a trim for facelift hazard button.

so the C will fit the older prefacelift hazard button from double din cage but will not fit the electronic climate control, right? or will it fit the the climate control unit?

Just buy a D to be sure of anything, otherwise you're ******* in the wind lol.

I always say, unfortunately time = money no matter which way you cut it, so spending time modding a C is money, which would add up to more than the difference you may/may not get a D for :) so save the hassle & buy once.
