Joey'd headlights or these....

Hey fella am not too sure on those drl ones really!

Joey or the audi type drls them angel eyes look ****e more for Saxos or novas etc bit tacky

Just finished the Joey mod on a spare set of lights and they look far more aggressive and audi like if you know what I mean

Joey mod it is then....after a new front bumper that is.

It is worth the hassle mate. I bought a pair of headlights in excellent condition and worked on them in the evenings using the oven and a pry tool. Almost finished them......just doing final seal checks and bulb fittings tonight before fitting and getting them aligned properly.

Has anyone fitted these DRL style lights? I presume they're a cheap knock off version? Any pictures of them fitted and how easy it was to do? I think the B6 is such a classy shape, the only thing which dates it is the lights....

I've yet to see an aftermarket DRL set up that looks better than oem lights.

If the car didnt roll out the factory with drl's, it just dont look quite right fitting them later!
obviously only my opinion, but you can always spot a homemade/diy drl!

Tbh, not even sure on this joey mod thing either! Done abit of research online about it. And, to me, just seems like alot of effort to re-work your headlights that end up looking like you've been to halfords.
If you like it then do it, personally id say spend your hard earned money else where! Ie..... Chip, good tyres, rnse, control arms, service ect......
sorry tom, but dont do it!!!!

joey mod and do a neat job and they look like s4 headlights. They only look like halfords crap if you don't take care.

Didnt realise s4 headlamps were different, had a quick look and cant really tell? There seems a few s4's being broken, is that a better option? Get s4 lamps, cant see why they would be a different fit from any other a4.
Anyone got a close up pic of an s4 headlight.... ?!

S4 Headlights are expensive because they are xenon (good upgrade though)

here's mine

Thanks for the pic. Im back tracking now lol, the s4 lamp unit looks quite smooth. The black internals i saw on google mostly looked shocking though! Suppose it is a case of doing it right.
As for the op's post..... S4 xenons it is then!

Beauty (and tack!) is in the eye of the beholder I guess? I thought some of the a4 cabriolet final editions had the DRL's, so I didn't think it would look as strange on a b6 cabriolet as it would on a b6 saloon or avant? Just wondered if anyone had done it to see what it looked like?

It depends how far you want to go,i have both in my garage at the moment S4 and a "joey'd set ",you will obviously have the self levelling issues with the s4 ones as they are factory xenons and have autolevelling motors rather than manual ones, i personaly am making a set from the two,i will be using the S4 ones with oem ballast, bulbs ect which have a grey inner which is a good match for my car colour but am modding the wirring to be able to take the original manual levelling motors so i can adjust beam height if needed, so i may have a set of joey'd ones up for grabs just need to get everything finished.

No B6's had DRL's. The xenon equipped B7's came with a halogen DRL bulb, which was a unique purpose bulb.

The first cabriolet to feature LED DRL's was the A5.

I didn't realise the final editions only had halogen DRL's, I assumed they were of the time when DRL's on an audi became de rigeur. Definitely no B6s with led DRL's, I just figured that a b6 and b7 cabriolet are fairly similar so wouldn't look too bad? It's just hard to decide without seeing it in the flesh

I had a set of DRL on my b6 1.8t dayline onea not angel eye as they do look tack and to be honest they looked awseome if i can find a pic ill get them put up w

I only managed to fit my RS4 rear ARB at the weekend as then it rained too heavy to fit the new headlights to show pics. They do look really nice and s long as you take your time doing the mod the end result will be ten times better than a rush job.

They were off ebay i got them about two years ago it was when dayline headlights werw stillpretty rare the quality was great I think they came from Germany ill try and get the pics out my old phne for you cant promise anything thou as my old phones very temprimental.

Ive tried to upload photo but I cant figure out how to do it through my phone as my computer is down at the moment and plus im quite tevhnically challenged lol. If you send me your email I could shoot it over to you and if you like you could put it up if people are interested seeing them again makes me want another set badly .

ant and it mite interest a few people the drls arnt lit up i know but you can see where they are clearly and they were bright as oem ones so hope it helps.

Hi dale,
Thanks for the picture, I'll put the picture up in the morning when I'm back on the laptop (if I can work it!).
The lights look good in the picture. The day line lights which you mention are sold by BM-town but not for the cabriolet, only saloon and avant. Dectane GmbH sell them directly but reading an old post about Dectane, they appear to sell left hand drive headlights only?
anyone added these lights to a cabriolet?!

Im sure mine were right hand drive for sure passed mots and deff ordeeed fpr eighthand drive car i do want some more nw what kind of price have yhey been when you lokked at them am sure I only pais 170 for mine and now theyre like 250. THanks
