Hi all,

After leaving the audi-sport flock 3 years ago when I got rid of my A3 (8P), I'm back again after having a stint in a Scirocco.

I was actually going to buy the Scirocco and continue using it for another year or 2, but a recent poor reliability record and bits starting to fall off it made me sign back up to my company's lease car scheme at the last minute.

I ordered the 2.0 diesel S-Line in phantom black with:
  • Tech Pack
  • Rear Parking Sensors
  • Privacy glass
  • DAB
  • B&O sound system
  • Folding mirrors
  • Alcantara/leather seats
  • Removal of badges

First impressions are very good, the build quality for a start is much improved over my Scirocco, the engine is punchier, the interior cabin quality is excellent and it's a smooth comfortable ride, the B&O system is very good too!

My only annoyances thus far are me not speccing the comfort pack, an oversight on my part, I do miss the 'welcome home' lights and the rear dimming mirror. The other being the Jukebox on the stereo, I've uploaded a load of music, which plays fine, but the display constantly shows 'Loading...' rather than the track info/cover art.

Everyone waiting for delivery of ones of these is going to be happy I think!

Nice spec, very similar to mine :)

I'd seriously consider swapping the rear parking sensors for the comfort pack if you can afford it, as it'll give you the auto-dimming rear view mirror, cruise control and auto lights/wipers for only another £260. If you're at the limit, money-wise, personally I'd ditch the privacy glass in order to do that. Just my opinion mind :)

Wish I could Vertigo, it was delivered on Thursday!

I had to rush the order through (due to me changing my mind at the very last minute to opt back into a company car scheme) at the time of ordering Lex couldn't tell me what the packs had, and my local Audi dealer had an early brochure which didn't help either!

Still, what's done is done, I may be able to retrofit a rear view mirror in the future, who knows!

You've made me feel better about my choice now, my 2nd choice was the scirocco but I wanted something brand new if that makes sense.

Everybody seems to be suggesting the cover art doesn't show, what is going on?!

Ah sorry, didn't realise, my mistake. Was just a thought, the spec is still awesome! :)

Don't know why I didn't see your comments about the comfort pack in the first place - my bad :(

Whilst I thought the Scirocco looked quite funky when it first appeared, I now feel it's dating very badly to be honest. The current trend in car design seems to be toward sharper, more defined edges and features, and the Scirocco is looking a bit like an aerodynamic blob that was designed in a wind tunnel :)

No problems with cover art here, either from iPod or SD cards.

Agreed on that front, when I got it there wasn't many around and it was quite a unique looking car. That said there we corners cut, i.e the EOS dash, MK V golf parts all over place, no hydraulic bonnet struts, the head unit was very dated and quite flaky, and ultimately the build quality wasn't all that. So all that, plus since the release of the basic 1.4 models they're springing up all over the place, so that uniqueness has gone.
It must be due a facelift soon...

I didn't have issues either initially, I copied 50 tracks over from an SD card and everything was fine. I've since copied ~800 tracks from a USB stick to the jukebox, the transfer completed successfully (after a long time), but where I'd normally navigate the media centre (tracks, artists, etc) I just get the Jukebox logo and 'loading...' in the CIS. Might delete it all and try again.

Might be worth checking the file sizes if the album art. Maybe there's some kind if limit?

Ah right - I've not actually bothered trying to copy anything to the jukebox/hdd so not sure on that one. If you're having problems with it then maybe try just getting a decent sized SD card and using that instead?

I'll give it a go this morning and see what happens. According to the manual the standard iTunes album art should be ok, as is the different file types, what might be the issue is the folder structure though. Apparently one big folder can cause it to slow down

Nice pics! (you copying my angles lol?)

Looks good in black :)

All is not lost on the CH lights, get it plugged into VCDS.

Don't worry too much about the coming home lights - they've ******** them up on the 8V. If you don't get out of the car almost straight away then they don't seem to come on at all and, even when you get straight out and they do, they stay on for about half the time they used to on my 8P with no option to alter the duration.

Again, get it plugged into VCDS…. the duration can be changed

And I went and sold my VCDS cable...

Does the 8V work with the Micro-CAN cable or do you need the full HEX one this time?

Ahh! Seeing this has made me question whether I want a sportback or 3 door.. :(

Lovely car, great colour. You've made me reconsider my colour choice now.......dammit! (see my other thread)

Looks great in black. What's the score with the silver lid in the cup holder, some sort storage add on? Seen it in a few pictures but not seen anything in detail.

Haha I've just emailed and changed from Daytona to Black based on these photos!

Just going for brilliant black though.

Edit: Have to stick with Daytona as my car is frozen for production so can't change spec now :(
