Guys, other than R Tech in Hinckley, are there any other recommendations for tuning and service within Leicester city centre. I know R Tech are good, but just looking for convenience (ie being able to walk home!) and somebody with a sympathy towards tuned VAG cars.

Not being funny mate, but R Tech are suppose more than just 'good' in terms of VAG tuning(I'm unsure what car you have?), worth the Taxi fair there and back for their work in my opinion.

R-Tech are great, just kick back at the workshop with coffee and tea in plentiful supply, and a burger van round the corner. spent the whole day there when Nick did mine, gives a bit more input on what you want out of the map (as its custom to you, unless you ask for a Revo or something).

I can vouch for lion garage in Leicester as a previous customer and now service manager. We do little tuning but service and repairs we do plenty.

There is only R-Tech, don't go anywhere else. With R-Tech you are GUARANTEED good service, I've spent almost 24 hours travelling to R-Tech and back; the convenience for me was not having to go back to get things rectified, having everything dealt with professionally and leaving with excellent figures.

That said, if you're the sort of person who won't get a short taxi ride back home for the sake of getting your car done by one of the best VAG mappers in the world then I'm not sure R-Tech is the place for you.

Well said Jardo, but perhaps the latter part is a bit strong :) haha

Haha valid point, in no way am I trying to say "nerr you're not good enough to go to R-Tech." Just saying that hanging around at R-Tech and taking in the sites and sounds is all part of the customer experience; I learnt more stood around at R-Tech last week than I have in the last 6 months on ASN :)

Now that is definitely true, nick is such a genuine helpful guy. The amount of "quick looks" and "just do this" advice he has given is unreal, most places would charge though the nose.

Seriously though, book in and kill a day @ r-tech. You won't be disappointed... As many a member will tell you :)
