Definately a difference between the Bam gasket and the N/a gasket I've got (not sure what N/A just is one most people run when bored over 82.5mm), which can even be felt in your hands how much flimsier it is and I measured 0.5mm difference with a vernier iirc ;)

Would that gasket not be off the u.s spec 2.0 20v n/a engine? I'm going to order one of those and see what's what.

As said this is a really common gasket to be used with over bores with people including Bill and Andrew iirc to name a few ;)

is it only suitable to be used on overbored blocks?

and also how does it differ to the oem one in that people put these on stroked engines?

Can't imagine it will be a problem on standard bore as the normal gasket is bigger than the bores so can't imagine there being a problem with being a bit bigger

Theres no oem one as far as I know that retains the standard thickness and will accommodate 83mm and greater pistons? IE sell one but is either a modified oem one or some other brand but there's is $100 where as I think the thinner vag one above is about £25 hence why most people happily fit the thinner vag one when overbored past 82.5mm :)

i hope it can be ok with standard bore. but if the oem one does sit tight to the bore then i guess it should be ok.
il see if i can find the specs for that passat engine, what bore it has.

82.5 bore. winning

£26.00 inc vat to you.

£20 to everyone else :lmfao:

Thanks mate, but I can't be ***** to change it about now. Just going to stick with what I have. At some point my non rifle drilled rods will destroy my engine and need to be removed, and when that happens I might look into it again.

My sentiments about this engine I'm building currently...

It'll be fine for a track car as your revs are always up, Leon will soon be running 270ish bhp and 19mm stock rods.

When will yours be ready?

Oi Karl disliking my post lol.

Discount goes to those i choose to give it to. Randoms get sod all :p

Yeah if its a stupid little PITA part with f all margin like you always seem to want lol

lol Scott has had loads of bits from me and i treat him well. Karl has ordered nothing from me so yeah...But now after his actions today he can do one! haha

A centre console is not small or a PITA part.

But granted the little washers, nuts and brackets are. lol

It is a PITA part when you want one that isnt suited to your fcn car and i have to try and work out what will fit and what wont!

Reesy likes sausage and mayonnaise sandwiches. Says it reminds him of something. Strange boy.

Everything sorted for the weekend. If it hasn't already arrived, it's been ordered.

Quite excited if I'm honest.
