hi all ive got a 1.8t pre 2000 agu STD K03 with these mods

BIG ITG FILLTER
FMI
DV FORGE 007 (BLUE SPRING)
FULL PIPER 2.5 INC EXHAUST WITH SPORTS CAT
EMERALD STANDALONE ECU

I GOT A POWER READING OF 185 BHP AND 240 LBFT IS THAT RIGHT ? OR SHOULD IT BE MORE ?

IVE JUST SENT MY K03S HYBRID TURBO OFF SO WILL GET IT BACK SOON GET IT FITTED AND REMAPPED

OMG WHY ARE WE SHOUTING!

Anyway.. you make more than 150 bhp, so that's a good thing, you don't mention that your car is mapped..

Can I ask why you are using standalone management instead of the standard management?

Very sorry for caps ,

yes car is fully mapped , because you can do so much more with standalone management and you can throw the maf in the bin plus i can map it myself knowing ive done a very good job :)

with that 'stage 2' sort of spec, with the intercooler, full exhaust, and induction upgrades, a ko3 is capable of 210 with a push from an experienced tuner.

Yeah, fact SK.

This is probably a baaaaad forum to be talking of binning off the standard management, the reason you THINK the standard management isn't up to the job is because you have clearly always been to incompetent "tuners" who haven't got a clue about ME and couldn't map their route to work let alone map a 1.8t.

To be fair SK I think you are 10bhp up, 200bhp is the realistic maximum for a K03.

How can you say the mapping is 100% spot on, got some logs?

all this talk about slating a stand alone ecu, vs bosch me whatever

you have no idea what health the turbo has..
very often agu on tired k03 will make that sort of power levels...
no idea on how hard its been asked to perform or anything

insufficient information to say either way, but 185bhp is'nt unusual for a stage 1 tuned agu on old turbo

because ive mapped it , i have spent alot of time mapping cars , i was taught by one of the best in the mapping world and i do it for a job and have done for 5 years now , some of you might know of a vw corrado with a r32 turbo owned by richard who is on this site, i mapped it 620 bhp car runs fine no problem ive mapped alot of cars never had a problem ,

Question for jonno123.... What boost are you running it to and what duty cycles is it taking to achieve this?
any dyno plots to show how it spools and holds boost for example?

is the k03 tired?

i dont slate stand alone.

i praise the guy for doing it and having a go.

all im saying is he should aim for more, using healthy cars for examples.

Standalone's can work very well when not incumbered with a lot of the bosch nonsense for factory smoothness

the op's happy with it, can adjust it Himself,
What none of us know from the little information provided is how hard its being driven in mapping terms

more info req'd

Agree. If I had the money I would be fitting DTA management to the track car.

If I had a little less money I would be retrofitting ME 7.5 management and a DBW throttle.

However, I have no money, so ME 3.8 it is.

Choices choices.

i will get a graph up asap , teh n75 valve is set too 100 % i think the turbo is worn out and the fact it still has a std tip cant be helping ive got a k03s hybrid being built at turbo technics , ill get it fitted and mapped and see if it makes any were near the 240 bhp mark

boost peaks at 17 psi at 3000rpm and drops to 8 psi at 6000 rpm

afr is 12.1 and ignition is set so min ignition for best power

duty cycle max'd is your answer... Depending on what the actuator pressure only is...

slow to spool is another clue
