Just had my Haldex filter & oil changed today. Just as well... as very little oil came out. While the car was on the ramp at my brothers garage I checked for the Haldex ground cable after reading posts about them corroding. After Finding where the ground cable should be I realised mine had none just the empty screw hole. Using images on this forum as a guide I couldn't find it at all no evidence of a cable ever being there. Where does the cable lead to? If its gone what effect does this have? My 4x4 works fine no errors or warning lights. Thanks

Depends on the year of the car as early ones didn't have them...

The earth cable comes from a stud on the floor pan of the car... if yours hasn't got one then you can fit one by finding/creating a suitable ground point on the floor pan and bolt the other end to the diff case..

If you had one there should be evidence of it being there... if you have a pre facelift S3 then it may never have had one at all

I have a facelift S3 210 on an X. What does it do? I thought it grounded the Haldex system?

Doubt it will have one... its earthed though the multiplug for the haldex but guess VAG deemed it necessary to add an extra earth lead in for whatever reason on later cars... you probably don't 'need' it but it won't hurt if you fit one...
