Hello,

Dont know if this is a common problem but my cars (2007 S3) hasnt been drove for 4 days, and earlier i went to drive and when i started it. it come up ESP fault, see user manual. the ESP light stays on. However on thursday i drove it and it was fine and wasnt up? the book doesnt say much info and i want to avoid taking it to audi if its something minor. any help much appricated.

Has your battery discharged?

You'll get an ESP fault if the battery is disconnected (or died) until you do a lock to lock on the steering and going for a short drive.

Best advice is to get it scanned for faults.

Well the car started so couldn't of died, just seems strange how its randomly done it. It's just recently had a service aswell

I have an upgrade battery to put on mine ready for the winter but I'm worried
I'm going to cause problems if I take the old one off. What will happen?
It actually looks an easy car to get the battery off for once.
So, if any warning lights come on when I change it all I need to do is
go for a spin round the block and do a lock to lock turn of the wheel.
Then, engine off, keys out, key back in, restart and no lights? Or will it go out
while I'm driving around?
