MY first mini mod was an Audi tax disc holder with my forum name engraved on it courtesy of Mrs Tempy bless her, but I've been itching to sort out some of the bigger mods. I also removed the rear badges except the rings. Much better.

Yesterday, despite the non-stop rain, a friend and I removed the bumper and fitted my new black optics grille and fog lights courtesy of forum member Chris (A3Kent). Nice helpful guy. He printed off some instructions which were very useful. Removing the bumper is a bit of a ball ache, but once you've done it once I can see being a lot easier. It was a hell of a lot quicker to put back together than get off anyway.

I'm very pleased with the end result. It transforms the front end of the car. Attached are before and after shots.

Next items on the list are:

  • Refurb the wheels in Titanium
  • Tint the rear windows
  • Swap out my half leather S-Line seats for a full leather S-Line set (if I can find a set for a 3 door somewhere)

There's other stuff, but that'll do for now. It's all coming along nicely and the car is already starting to look like how I wanted it when I was searching for an A3. My old S-Line grille and fog lights will be in the classifieds soon.

Could you PM me a price for those as well please.

May be interested.

Thanks for the comments.

Those wheels look nice in gun metal mate. That's opened my options up a bit. Was trying to go close to OEM as possible, but they look good.

Was good to meet you Paul and be able to share some of the little bits I know as well as supplying you with the black edition grille and fog grilles. Glad the instructions were useful too. Your A3 looks the part now :)

Hope the full leather turns out to be a winner

Just bought a new front grille in black for my A3 as well. Any chance you could upload the instructions on how to fit?

I'm sure Chris (A3Kent), the poster above you wouldn't mind emailing them to you. Drop him a PM mate.

Good luck with the swap.

Well...after spending most of the day in the car doing a very long round trip, I've managed to tick off another one of my modding shopping list items.

It was good to meet you today mate. Thanks for replying to this thread and helping me spend my money for me

I'm really looking forward to getting the full leather seats fitted. Hopefully tomorrow if the weather holds out. I'll try and post a guide up on how to get the seats out/in if I can as I couldn't find much on the forum bar a few lines of text. The fronts look easy, but the rears a bit more tricky.

My set of half leather S line seats will be in the classifieds soon. If anyone's interested, send me a PM.

Pics to follow.

Seats fitted today. Not as bad a job as I thought. I'm loving the full leather. Thanks to a3_sline_tdi for helping me out. It was nice to meet you mate.

They look lovely Paul really makes the interior look more luxurious, was nice to meet you also, nice to help others out on the forum. Told you they wasn't too bad to fit. Shame you didn't get chance to see mine as I know you wanted to, but you soon will when I start my thread for facelift. Which i started today.

Well despite spending out for presents at Christmas I decided to treat myself to a couple of car bits. I ordered and fitted a full set of genuine Audi rubber mats. I wasn't sure if I'd like them over the carpet ones, but they are actually very good.

Before Christmas I bought a full set of S3 pedals from a breaker. Unfortunately the gas pedal was damaged which was a bit of a let down, so decided to order a new set from the eBay seller in the Czech Republic mentioned on here. I've just been out and fitted them and they look really good. Much better than the boring old black set.

Here's a pic. Footwells need a good clean, but no point in this crappy weather.

Oh, and as previously mentioned my first mini mod from the missus, my personalised tax disc holder :)

I've managed to source a climate control unit with heated seat buttons and the Kufatec loom, so the next mod will be getting the heated seats working.

I miss not being able to play my iPhone music in the car and as full RNS-E and iPhone integration is too far out of my budget I'm thinking about getting one of the Dension kits. Either that or go for an aftermartket double din with bluetooth and iPhone but I'm not sure if I want to retain the stock dash look yet. Decisions decision.

I hope you all had a great Christmas.

The heated seats are all in and I'm loving them so far. Just in time for the snow this morning. A big thanks to Ash187 for doing the install. We had some teething issues but got there in the end and I very much appreciate his time and persistence. Especially yesterday as it was damn cold and not the nicest or working conditions.

Thanks mate :icon_thumright:

I haven't updated this thread in a while, so thought I'd do a quick post as I've just got back from ticking another box on the modding list. I've just had my wheels refurbished in dark anthracite in a matte finish. I'm over the moon with the results.

A local alloy wheel place are doing a special on anthracite wheels this month. 4 wheels up to 18" in anthracite grey for £160 +VAT. I had to go for it. Here are the results. The pics aren't fantastic but once I've had a chance to wash her I'll pop out and take some decent ones.

I also had my windows tinted, so that's another box ticked.

If anyone is interested, my wheels were done by Inspraytion in Rochester. The only had the car for two days and I'm really happy with the results. I'm right near Lepsons and there's no doubt their quality is good, but this price was too good to miss.

My windows were tinted by Old School Windscreens in Chertsey. The tinting was on recommendation from our resident guru Nigel. It was a bit of a drive for me, but worth it. They have a technique to reduce the silver line you get due to the dot matrix windows. You can still see it, but it's not as noticeable as other cars I've seen out there.

Thanks for the recommendation Nigel. Eva and Carl were an absolute pleasure from start to finish. I love a bit of good customer service. The cafe next door does a decent fry-up while you are waiting too :yum:

Next mod will be getting our Nigel to install my Cobra parking sensors. I'd better stock up on tea and biscuits :)

A couple more shots.

S3 seats in. Tricky to get decent interior shots.

A first stab at wrapping. The aluminium surround had a couple of scratches, so I had a go at wrapping in silver carbon fibre.
