Bit concerned about this. Was this still an issue on the 2005 allroad or had it been resolved by then?

Thanks

Is yours a late C5 shape? (like the one in my sig?), if so, yes, if not, check the C6 forum.

In that case yes, it's an issue, the main thing is to unblock the two drain holes under the battery and brake servo, a search on here (or even google should find you some info on how, it's a quick and easy job!

Thanks for that I think I'll definitely be investigating this weekend. Looks like you had a lucky escape with it not entering the cabin!!

Tried and failed!!

Couldn't get the f£&@king battery out. It simply was to large to get out, the only option I could see would be to remove the windscreen wiper arms and the plastic moulding at the base of the windscreen. But this seems hugely over complicated for such a mundane task as changing a battery!!!!

I know it looks tricky but it is possible to wiggle the battery out If you (very carefully)
move the wiring harness out of the way (it goes right across the front bullkhead of
the plenum chamber and says 'do not bend' on it).
The rest is easy, the battery tray has to come out to really clean out the guck!
A previous mechanic/bodger had already cut down the rubber grommets on mine
so I left them as is.
