Hey All

Looking for a bit of local knowledge here. I've been staying in Aberdeen for a few years and have only ever used Aberdeen Audi for servicing. My 04 A3 now appears to need new rear pads and disc and possibly a new caliper as it has been binding a bit and was stated that it was binding on my last mot as an advisory.

Reluctant to use Aberdeen Audi due to prices and past experience (I'm sure im not the only one). So any recommendations on good garages that are not out to rip you off or do a botch job would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Not a big DIY job to do if you have the tools & some place to do it...

I have a mate in VW that does homers and i get all my mods fitted by him, anti roll bars, springs, quickshifter etc. PM me ur number and what u want, ill ask him how much he will charge for fitting if u source the parts from Stoke audi etc.

I'm going to be using a guy from Porsche (know his through local vw club) from now on, he has a wee garage outside Stonehaven. I can get you his details if you want.

I work for Dingbro so could get you some cheap(er) parts if you can get someone to fit!

That's a good shout...

That said, I'm happy doing brakes so long as you have the bits and things like the windback tool for the callipers if required (pretty sure they are needed...). I changed the callipers on my 10 plate A3 so been there already. :)

Thanks for all the quick replies guys. Unfortunately I don't have all the tools needed plus I've never done it before so id rather see it done up close then give it a go next time round. ilim has got in touch with a mate to sort it for me so thank you all for offering advice and services. Inglis thanks for that, I already have the parts but I will take you up on that next time I'm looking for parts.

Once again guys thanks a lot, glad I came here first before paying through the nose at Audi!

Only go to Aberdeen Audi for warranty work, or to keep main dealer service history - never for out of pocket repairs.

Clark Motorsport in kintore, audi for clutch and flywheel £1800, Clark £900. More than technicians if you know what I mean.
