Well I feel I can explain my problems now as it has been put to bed.
When I first collected my new car, I was told that the valeters hadn't cleaned off the glue left from the transportation buffers properly so before I arrived, they wizzed it away and cleaned it.
We picked the car up on the Thurday and drove it away to the beach. It got covered in crap so when I got it home, I washed it off and noticed tiny little rust spots all over it caused from "Industrial fallout" I made them aware on the Saturday and said I'd be out on the Monday.
On the monday I took the car out to the garage and they took it away and started cleaning it. I made them aware that I was concerned that would they put some wax on to protect it and they said they would. As it was returned, I noticed swirl marks all over it so they rubbed them off. No wax though but I didn't find out until it rained after and the water didn't pool.
A week later, I washed it again and noticed that there were rust spots in places where the valeters hadn't done last time but not only that, there was a paint blemish on the rear bumper. Again I took it out and let them see it and they were shocked and said that they would get a smart repair done.
On the Friday before it went in, I was driving down the motorway and noticed that the build label that they stick on the inside of the windscreen in Germany on the line had transferred all its ink onto the inside of the screen. They obviously didn't clean the screen, just pulled the label off.
I took the car out on a Monday to have the smart repair done and was called out on the Wednesday to take a look. I was applaed that the guy or the dealer thought this was good. It was almost like there was a blue primer with one coat of white with a definite line where the blend was done and it was orange peeled to hell. I refused to accept it and they said they'd paint it.
I was given another car to use while they removed the bumper and painted it. It took until the following Wednesday to be done and when I looked at it, to me, it was totally different. By now, I didn't want the car anymore and tried to refuse it. Long story short, they made out it would be such a long drawn out and painful process that I just as well keep the car.
Im not convinced it is right but they are adamant it is. I have asked for a letter in case the bumper fades more than the rest of the car as of course when new, it was painted in one go, with one batch of paint, in Germany on a line and now my bumper was painted with a different batch by hand in Bristol.
They have compensated me and have agreed for my valeter to clay, polish, finesse and wax the whole car and they will pay.
I am appalled at this and whole heartedly blame the valeters as it is all their doing. The bumper blemish was either caused by mopping in one spot too long or a heat lamp as when I bought the car, I took pics and there was no defect in any pic I took and the car was in my garage the rest of the time.
My advice, don't let the mongolid valeters touch it.
