hi everyone
doing a deal on a3 spoke mfsw steering wheel with airbag from a 09 a3 to fit on my 2005 avant which as a 4 spoke mfsw
will this work and if yes will it need coding
many thanks in advance

ps did do a quick search but the deal is to go ahead in a little while so just trying to make sure

will also need a Highline Steering ECU, which you probably wont have.
Is that true? - since gas-man says he already has an MFSW (a 4-spoke one) won't his SCSM already work with the A3 MFSW?

thanks for your replies guys

really hopeing this is just an easy straight swap out

so if anyone can give me the answer i dont want to be :banghead:

2005 is it a B6 or B7 you have, B6 use single stage airbag wheels with buttons. The A3 will be a dual stage airbag. That may be your first issue.

If you have a B7, then I don't see any problems except making up the correct airbag loom.

thanks graig it is a b7 not sure i understand about the loom?

Straight swap no coding needed as you already have a MFSW.
Only issue may be the airbag loom connector to the slip ring as it may be slightly different to that of the A3. You can always test first and if does not fit, then swap the loom from your 4 spoke airbag.
