Single press on keyfob

Hi guys

new to the forum, i have just bought an a4 avant (b7) and id like to change my fob to unlock all doors except boot with one press. I know it can be done as i did the same on my MK4 Golf Anniversary. I have VCDS and correct cable, can some one let me know the cable?

That's suppose to say code at the end sorry.
 
Why? Whats wrong with pressing the button twice?
 
nothing i guess, but my preference is to press it once, and i know you can do it through VCDS, just not sure on code.

check ross tech site or search is an idea
 
Can't find a definite code via search and I don't want to mess it up with incorrect code.
 
as long as you write down the existing code before you do anything, then if you ferk up you can put the original code back in. As above, Ross-Tech Wiki is your friend ;)
 
You disable something like 'security unlock' I seem to remember? I managed to find it on the software, fairy straightforward stuff...
 
Why do you need a log? All I need is the code for unlock with one press?
 
In order to get help on this request from myself, please provide a log of the car.

Also if you had to read the thread fully, you would note Gaz had already pointed you to the correct site for info on the coding required.
 
I will provide a log as soon as i can. Im being a bit thick here, but im assuming this is the bit from Wiki i need to do

[Read]


  • Choose the memory position you want the new key be matched on by entering it's number (e.g. "3" for memory position 3). Make sure to TYPE IN the number instead of scrolling up to it, otherwise you will not be able to click [Test].
[Test]


  • Now press any button on the remote you want to match.
  • The meas. block field above will change from Not Recogn. to Recognized.
[Save]

[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

You're not trying to add or remove remotes - at least not to just allow selective unlock or driver or all doors.

Coding looks to be+00004 = Selective Central Locking (SCL)

As Nigel has suggested - if you're unclear post logs and he can advise you with confidence.
 
No that matches a new remote as NHN says he needs to see a log of the car to check everything's ok

It's the coding part you require once you post a log up we can help you

i have done it myself :) once i knew what to look for it was easy :) Thanks everyone for helping.

Just out of interest my log, its showing lots of things, but no fault codes, does this mean my car is free of faults? or just cant put a fault code up?

Central convenience module 46

Current code was 07151

There was a little app called basecode that you could run and pop that code in and it tells you what options you have set and what you can change, you tick/untick the options and it shows you what the new code is.
