Just checking, but I believe I am correct in saying the PD 140 bhp did not have a dpf on them? until they changed to the CR?

Cheers

Correct (unless for some unknown reason a previous owner had one fitted as optional extra ) !!!!!

Not 100% mate but I think some pd 140's from 2005 did have?

Yeah wasn't sure mate your prob right, was sure I've seen them in the catalogue at work (work for a motor factor ) must of been 170!

You have seen them in the catalogue ( ETKA) but as an optional dealer fitment on the 140 !

Check your option codes - if you see 7GN you don't have a DPF fitted.

It's not engine evolution though is it... It's tax reduction!! :ninja:

At the time of introduction it was supposed to be and regardless of the difference between the 2 tax brackets its pennies compared to the amount of cash needed when it goes wrong. I know there are people out there that rant and rave about how good it is and they've never experienced any DPF problems but DPF deletes are probably my main line of business at the minute as owers are fed up with constant failed regens, bocked cannister etc etc so a DPF delete is the way forward IMO.

My 140 is £175!

Not sure what's going on but the tax on my 2005 reg. 140 sportback that runs out at end of November this year was £130.

Just checked the government website and it tells me that renewal will be £170 !

Didn't think it would go up by that much !

Our MY2010 170 DSG is £135 to tax though it is the CR engine...

That seems to check out with latest info.

Just shows that a 170 CR DSG costs less than a 140 manual PD in road tax in 2012/13.

Think I need to ditch my 2006 PD 140 sportback and get something newer ( and obviously ) much better !!

Yeah I'm thinking along the same lines... My car is £270 a year to tax.
