New to Audi as of today so...........Can anybody advise or post pics of the diverter valve location on a B7 Quatto 2.0TFSi.
I have read that there is a new improved verion and at ony £39 on ebay from a VAG dealer it's got to be worth fitting.

Also the location of the erature gauge sensor would be useful as gauge keeps dipping from 90 to 70.

I'm new to Audi and not sure how the 2.0TFSi is supposed to feel, but it feels SLOW compared to my Subaru.

It also has a very slight hesitation/miss around 1,900 - 2, 200rpm on very light throttle, so I may change the MAF as it looks original (these Bosch sensors are replaced quite regular on Subaru's).
The Coilpacks have just been swapped under warranty (it was hesitating/missing before the coil pack change).

The plugs have done about 12 months 15,000 miles are they worth changing ???

Cheers

the DV is on the turbo you cant miss it from under the car
3 botls to fit it
the temp sensor (CTS)
is at the back of the engine very tight to get to but very easy to change
buy oem most of the aftermarket CTS fail get a new 0 ring and clip aswell.

Would be interested to know if a new MAF cures the slight hesitation/miss as i have the same issue as this. I think they're around £80 from Audi. You have obviously experienced this with the Subaru and I guess they didn't show any fault codes just gradual deteriation..

Cheers

£80 quid at audi i wish they were
i think iv got 1 not the full houseing just the MAF that screws in

Yes true, a common fault on Subaru, so much so that it's almost classed as a service item.
The earlier MAF's were better but when they failed it would just lean out from mid to high revs which potentially is leathal.

The later ones (Bosch plug in tube style, same as Audi) do the same but can often give a subtle miss-fire or occasional stall at idle.

It feels like it could be MAF as it is only on light throttle so there won't be much airflow for the MAF to sense if it's getting a little insensitive.

I have mapped many many Subaru's in the past, so keen to see if there is anything I can do myself on the Audi.
What VAGcom cables/software is recommended ?

To Add.... my wife has a Seat Altea so I'm going to pull the MAF's from both and compare P/N. If there the same I will try the Altea's in the Audi.

i changed the plugs on mine after I did the coil packs and the diverter. This got rid of the hesitation. Although each part improved it slightly. No hesitation at all. After going from my Subaru sti, I also thought it was slow. But now I'm used to it, I think it does well considering the weight. 10x the quality. No longer feels like being in a 300bhp Nissan micra. :)

DV on order and Plugs are on passenger seat waiting for a dry day or daylight or both !!!!!!

Hi Guy's

Quick question, is it easy to reach the DV from under the car if on jacks and laying on my back, or can you only reach it from a ramp and getting your head well up into the engine bay.
Are there any plastic covers to remove to gain access.

thanks

you need to remove the plastic cover
and then its pretty easy to find and change
1 bolt can be tight to get to but on ramps
you should do it in an hour ish.

Bolts are thread locked or at least they were on mine so maybe tight to come out. Refitted mine with Copaslip as don't like using thread lock in aluminium, no problems so far. Also got a confirmed price on MAF from my supplier of £115 + VAT, but think trade is £98 + VAT.

cheers, have u got a part number for the MAF as my supplier had nothing definate listed for the 2.0 only the smaller capacity
told me to pop it out and read part number which i havnt managed to do yet

Will try and post number tomorrow night, to confirm, is it for BUL engine code

If it is for 'BUL' engine then I think part # for MAF sensor is 06F 906 461 A but please check as I am not 100% sure.

thanks that's the same number i read off the unit today.
my motor factor could not locate a source other than TPS.

The price I got was from TPS, you will need some security Torx bits to remove the screws.

As a matter of interest I tried running mine today with the MAF disconnected, not sure if it made any difference but this is the strange part.

Disconnected with engine running and ESP light came on. Car drove fine with no issues. Turned engine off and restarted and this time ESP and MIL light came on. Again drove fine. Turned engine off and plugged in diagnostic tool and only fault code related to ABS so ESP problem but no faults on engine section. Erased all code for ABS and ESP and MIL light now off. Any thoughts as seems strange.

i have a maf for the bfb bul etc

so 3 years later i've got the same issue, i'm hoping you fixed yours... please say you did!? and for info the ESP lamp on maf disconnect is expected, something to do with how its used as part of that system, mine does the same.
