Fault finding on ABS

Ok So I've got the ABS Light coming on the dash along with the brake light with exlamation mark and three beeps.

Firstly this happened intermittently about 3 or 4 times over the course of a week, but now is on constantly.

I have to drive about 2 or 3 metres before I get the warning lights.

I've had a look through some old thread on here and found some common problems, but not had much experience with ABS.

So whats the best way to find out exactly what the problem is? Any tricks or tests I can do to find out the source of the issue

Then I can go about fixing it.

Ok I'll get it scanned and get a code. Is it best to get it scanned at Audi, or will any garage do?

Neither really lol....

Get VCDS lite and a cheap ebay USB cable.... cost you about 8 quid...

Do you need to buy separate software with that? to get the code on the computer?
