XS Exhaust Manifold heat shield

I'm sure someone on here had created a heat shield out of sheet aluminium that protects the red charge hose from the heat of the manifold? I've looked at Prawn's thread to see the way he made his but as it's on an A3 the charge pipe takes a different route to the S3.

Has anyone got any info or pictures for making one?
 
Wasnt it syvo or somebody with a similar name?
 
Liquid had one made out of titanium iirc and then sold the template onto another member although can't remember who :)

He made it with CAD.

He has since extended it round to protect the servo.
 
I have the prototype and template bud. Pm me if you want some pics or a cardboard copy posting.
 
That goes for anyone. It's for a S3 too.
I'm not able to fab them up but believe Liquid is going to make some up.
 
Yes me and my freind did make one,ive just been really buisy with work atmo so have'nt had time to take the template to my local fabricator (freind),also these will be made with a few changes less flex.so won't be long untill the finished project is ready,i will pop out of work this week to get a start made on them.i will keep you posted.

Ok,i will post up pictures ect when the batch is compleat.will be end of this week i will drop of the template,and bending angles,i will keep you all posted,just hard to find alot of time atmo.
 
Found some time to pop to the fabricators today,the person i know to fabricate the sheilds is ****** on holiday for a week,so i will pop back next monday,i did find out they can't or he will not be able to supply the materials,so gives me a week to source the sheet titanium.i will keep you all posted,and try to hurry these up as quick as i can.

This isn't the shielding Westy is after... S3's have all this in place already... he wants a shield for the hose coming off the turbo as this gets fried if not protected...

LiquidS3 has done a shield for his and Sam Bryant has also done similar (see pic below)...

If i was'nt on an iphone,i would upload a picture of the titanium one.unless anyone wants to pm there number,so i can send a pic to them to upload mayby (lazy *******),not near a computer sorry.

Not yet. Car is in the garage getting relentless mani DP and cat fitted at the min.

Will do it when I get it back.

Just trying to find a heat mat material to stick to it to try and help with the heat absorption / reflection.
