Just purchased this VW/AUDI diagnostic tool to scan my car for any codes.

It doesn't have the MIL light on, but wanted to make sure that none of the other systems had any fault codes.

Simple to use - ran a test by removing a switch, which did present an error and then was able to easily erase the error, bringing it back to normal again :)

Cheap to purchase and great for keeping car in check.

I got mine from ebay item number: 120935999839

Only cost £30+pp and has 1-yr guarantee so that's good for me.

What year is your car? I'm asking because I was under the impression most of the cheaper scanners don't work with newer CAN-Bus cars but I don't know when this change happened (my car is a '57 plate). I'd love to get one as they are a handy tool to have but can't afford VDCS. :(

2006 B7, not all features are compatible with my model (e.g service reset- but I can do this manually anyhow)

It says its compatible with 2001+ cars and will be trying it on a few cars and keep you posted, but it reads instantly and does the job.

This is not vagcom & you shouldnt badge it as, vagcom is vcds & only available from RT & there distributors/resellers.

Sorry about this, didn't realise VAGCOM was a trademark or similar. It should be corrected now

I just thought (as I just bought one :) ) - does erasing codes mean anything bad, or should they be reset?

Im worried that if I erase the code it may do more than just reset the problem (in my case turning off the airbag & abs lights)

Any thoughts welcome :)

Hi, All the erasing does is reset the fault. If the fault remains the error may be displayed again. Shouldn't have any other issues by a simple reset.

Thank you for that mate, I wasnt sure if it would do more damage & if the 'erase' was a more serious sticking head in sand solution than 'resetting' (which wasnt an option :)

Ill see how I get on :)

Hi I also have just purchased this scanner, do you or anyone else know what web site you go to to update the unit as the oil reset is not supported for my car everything else works fine. Also who manufactures the ProScan V400 CAN VW/AUDI . I can not find any info at all, plenty places to buy one but no real info
Thanks
Paul
