Jojo was the only one Approaching that at any decent speed anyway :p well done Jt! Impressive.

Braking definitely required for camp though on the whole. If you're not braking for it, you're going to slow.

Car is handling better than last year Nick, but couldn't make use of it due to an unknown power issue? Bit gutted, but it was still a good day out. Hope it's a cheap fix, will look into it when I have a chance!

I'm well gutted, I could have cleared up if I went! Frenchman would have been the only competition and I've seen him try and drive fast and it always ends up on its roof lol

You should have sen the cars on track!

Did anyone else see that white golf R,killing everythubg in the track?:D

Well now you got your water math kit,I'm sure nothing on the road/track is a problem for you!

Watching that on video looked awesome only lasted seconds, from inside his car it felt scary as hell and seemed to last ages before we straightened up amazing save Joe.

Chris.

Yep from that video it looks cool, but when I watched it with my own eyes a bit further round the track to the left I thought Joe was gunna bin it!

Blimey Joe, that was a bit lairy mate! There's always one going sideways there every year. At least you kept it off the grass!!

Did anyone see the rs6 go off track?I think welly put the pressure on him!

Having just actually watched the video, that's epic!

How did you learn to drive like that delivering Chinese in Birmingham Joe? That's a properly epic save, hats off. You are my hero.

Talk us through what happened in that bend Joe as it looked like you locked up on approach?

First of all, I just wanted to say I've not driven my car at full pelt/in anger with my current setup, especially since I only geo'd it last week, and took a few scenic corners I know of to see how it felt, and it's all good. I had Chris(rhubarb) as a passenger, and told him I'd do a warm up lap to get a feel of the car, but since I know this track, I semi attacked the first few turns and already know what the car had to give.

Anyways, once I had cleared the bobbies chicane, I went for it, my original setup from last year allowed me to go maximum after this, and using the coloured cones on the track(braking point/turn in/apex) to full effect, as they work for my car. Heading towards camp corner, I braked just as usual in a straight line, going down the gears, then I turn and part throttle as I always do, but the back end let go, I felt the whole car sliding and going very sideways, so just applied opposite lock and mashed the throttle, waiting for the car to straighten up which it did! Once straightened up, I was just accelerating again as normal at full boost, then the power dropped, and I had no boost at all!(it's fixed now though)

Reasons for the back end coming out? R32 ARB rear and standard front ARB? Rear tyres was possibly a bit wet? I had power/boost already when I started to make the turn, changing the car's balance, hence back end out?

Who knows?

Main thing is, it looked good, I'm happy to entertain, and I got off the track in one piece!

And I will be back again for some more next year! :racer:

I didn't learn anything Jardo, it's a natural skill I was born with, something you don't have!

You are my hero.

I compliment my lack of talent by having a car 10x better than yours ;)
