Trip Computer Not Resetting

I've just picked up a 6 month old A3 yesterday.

I've noticed the trip computer isn't working as I expect. I drove to work this morning and parked up and then about 4 hours later went back out and noticed that trip computer 1 still had the values from my morning drive.

The strange thing is I'm almost certain it was resetting yesterday after it was left for a while so I'm worried that while I was playing in the menus on the DIS last night I have inadvertently set something causing this but I can't find any reference to anything that controls it.

Any ideas?

Did the values reset when you started to drive?
Mine is a 56 plate, shows values of last journey even if parked up overnight, but as soon as I start driving, they reset.

Thanks for the quick response! I'll check it out tomorrow as I've been too impatient and manually reset it each time before driving off.

you will have 2 trip computers.

#1 will reset automatically an hour after you switch off
#2 will retain trip information until you reset it manually.

are you sure you're looking at the right one? their's a little number at the corner of the display to indicate which is selected. Also, you can reset either at any time in the menu. my #2 currently reads something like 3900+ miles. as I've not reset it since I got it in May.

as Danny has said it resets after you start moving...

It only resets itself when the car has been switched off for more than 2 hours, though when you first get in and switch the car on it will display the last journey but as soon as you start driving it will reset it back to 0

Thanks for the help, it did indeed reset as soon as I started driving off.
