In lazy "D" mode it doesnt seem to be changing like it did? Hesitant, delayed and not as smooth?? Now covered 3.5k miles.
The car has doee only very short journeys recently, maybe it needs a long blast?

I have 7 speed dsg in a VW and its seamless.

Will have to get it booked in.

Have read about Mechatronic Issues??? wtf?........ and dsg software updates?

Just curious if any others have had any issues or software updates.

Cheers.

Does anyone drive in lazy 'D' mode ? forget that .imo

When I bought my car 6 weeks ago the delivery was delayed due to a software upgrade on the DSG box, maybe you need it doing?

I've spoken with Audi twice now and they're convinved there's no software update available for the S-Tronic box on the RS3. Does anyone who's had this done have any more details? Software update version number etc?

I have no details I'm afriad :(

There were 2 recalls on mine, the software and the drivers side air dam, it needed replacing with one with hioles in apparently?

I had the drivers side air intake changed to the one with holes, but no software update. I might give Audi UK a call to see if they have more info.

I've also enquired about the software update for the RS3 and was also told there wasn't one, that was from Blackburn and Stoke Audi who in my mind are two of the dealers out there.

Garry,

Take the car out for a blast, apparently they have a "learning" mode and will adapt to your driving style, so every now and then give some...

I had two Mechatronics units fail in VW Golf GTI, the first one was changed okay, but the second one they put up a fight and became awkward...so the car went...these are not cheap fixes!!!!

My car was bought from Tamworth Audi, maybe give them a call?

How old is your RS3?

Mines a Jan 2012 car, been thinking about popping it in to see if its had all these recalls done before having it remapped :)

Mines a July 2012, so a bit newer, maybe that why?

Got mine from Stoke Audi. Had a bumper repair recently and at the same time did 2 recalls. 1/ perforated brake blanking plate 2/ full software upgrade. when i asked what the software upgrade was the service guy was not sure but did say it takes 3 to 4 hours because if not done correctly it would kill the car!!!!! the invoive when done states (carry out 37G4 workshop action checking vibration damper). The only thing i have noticed since is that it drop power slightly when on the motorway at 70 somtimes then chimes back in?

Sorry forgot to mention the other software code as 46F8.

The DSG definitely learns! Hoon it around for a bit and it allows the revs to build more before a change :) vice versa applies too :(

No known issues with my car bought around back end of Feb 2012. Not had to take my car in for any recalls and hope I never will.

It's been found that most of the problems came within a large batch of Misano Red's

Mine is spot on, are you sure you're just not imagining it?

it does learn, so go give it a blat for 30 mins, I'm sure it will be fine ;)

The DSG box will 'learn' your driving style to a certain extent but should never become lethargic and poor at responding to the loud pedal. Definitely worth finding out if there is an update for the gearbox software from Audi.

If anybody is interested we offer custom DSG software for the RS3. We can change the shift points, raise the upper RPM shift point, enhance shifting speed and launch control etc on all software versions, even if it has had a recent update.

Stage 1 DSG is £399

We also do a variety of engine upgrades for the RS3:
Stage 1 (software only) is a factory smooth 400BHP / 600NM £499
Stage 2 (Software, exhaust, intake) is 430BHP / 650NM £599 + parts
Stage 3 (Software, cooler, exhaust, intake, Loba hybrid turbo and rail pump) gives 500BHP / 700NM but requires a Stage 2 custom DSG software program £599 + parts

If your car has the 'Sport' button on the dash we can apply the tune to 'Sport' mode only giving true O.E. switching of the maps

Could be the mechatronics if it's jerky and delayed with a bit of clunking when it finally shifts.

Does it happen all the time ? or is it worse when the gearbox is hot after a lot of stop start queuing say ?

Thanks for all the replies. Its bang on in S mode or manual when giving it the beans!
Yep, jerky and delayed only in D and in low gears. Not all the time but mostly in mornings 2nd and 3rd leaving the estate.
Had a reply from the master tech saying there is AMI and DSG software update and needs the air brake duct so have to get it booked in when I can.
