Hi my name is Chris just thought i would introduce myself to this section of the forum, I live in Teeside and yesterday put a deposit on a brand new Ibis White RS3 :) pick it up in 2 weeks and that day can't come soon enough.

Currently drive a heavily modified MK4 R32 with 500+ bhp but as with all things in life things change and with the imminent arrival of a new addition to the family the time had come to part ways with the golf.

So RS3 here i come :)

Cheers

Chris

Hello and welcome Mate.

Good choice, you wont regret it.

Pics and spec of the R32 monster?

Where is it advertised. Are you on MK5gti forum?

Thanks for the Welcomes :)

Will get pics up of the 32 in a bit, spec wise theres a lot lol, when i get time i will put a full spec list together.

The golf is currently not advertised anywhere because i haven't had time really but I'm in no immediate rush, so i can still enjoy it for a while longer yet :)

Heres a couple of pics of the Golf

Is that at Stoke? I may have just seen you there?? Just picked mine up!

Car looks great!! You on the R32 OC by any chance as i recognise the username.

@ Yes3 no that is Teeside Audi where that pic was taken :)

@ Macdaddy yeah i am registered on the OC but don't really go on there much tbh, whilst looking through this forum today i recognised your username and remembered your 32 which was beautiful by the way :)

Be interesting to know how the RS3 compares to the Golf running that sort of power will you be modding the Audi or be keeping it standard whilst in warranty?
Had a couple of Mk5 R32's over the years fantastic engine note but they lack power in std form recently sold an Edition 30 with just a remap (running 300 bhp) way quicker than my R32 (except in the rain/snow lol)

Welcome mate, Ibis is a real head turning colour with the right spec so you won't be disappointed - my S3 SB BE lived up to all my expectations and then sum but fancied a change when I went for the RS3 and opted for Black which is only the fastest because you have to continually keep the weight off by polishing her to look good ;-)

Thanks for the welcomes :)

@ Real Thing: Yeah it would be interesting to see how they compare, the golf is vey much a wolf in sheeps clothing and has upset some real pieces of exotica in my ownership :)

For now at least the Audi will be staying standard but for how long I'm not so certain lol, i won't be going is far as built engines etc like i did with the golf but Stage 2 sounds interesting :icon_thumright:

Welcome to the forum!! :D

I must say I really do love the RS3!!

If there is anything that I can help with by all means ask away!

Awesome Mike

P.S Get it remapped! :D

Mike could you give us an insight into what's involved in mapping the RS since its abit more involved than the OBD tuning of older cars.

Off topic abit but I had this from APR last year;

"The ecu is removed off the vehicle, and yes quite correctly the cover has to be removed so that our cpd tool can communicate and write a new file to your ecu. The ecu then has to be resealed using correct seal and new torque screws".

I must emphasize that the MK4 R32 was the only real R32 ever built. I just love looking at that R32 of yours. Absolutely beautiful. So jelly that you have 2 pure sex whips. Cheers

Off topic but the Mk4 was the original however the Mk5 was the better all round car to live with.

Had both... one Mk4, one Mk5 DSG, one Mk5 Manual..

MK4 always got more looks, sounded amazing (non res Milltek/sportscats), and had alot of character..

MK5's were nicer to drive, modern, easier to life with, drove faster.. maybe lacked a little character compared to the Mk4.
