i have a nice muddy footprint on the carpet in my left footwell, ne ideas on how best to remove it without damaging the material. i drive 56 S3 by the way. thanks in advance

Cleaned my A3s carpet yesterday with some hot water with a few drops of Fairy in it, with a clean rag. Just make sure you don't over wet it because mine took ages to dry. I think I might hire a wet vac to do mine cos it's still not completely clean.

The most common advanced carpet cleaning technique is often known as steam cleaning, also known as hot water extraction. Steam is not actually used, hot water is. Steam may actually breakdown the carpet and can cause it to contract. Hot water extraction employs hot water and combines it with a formula that is placed on the carpet by using a sprayer.

wait for it to dry completely and use a nail brush or scrubbing brush or similar and dry scrub and hoover at the same time, sucking the dust up as you go and you should remove 99% of it.
