Oil pump problems

hi everyone ,ive just purchased a audi a4 1.9 tdi on a 2003 plate . very happy with it in respect of looks ,handling but just wanted to hear from owners of same model who can enlighten me of any faults to look out for ie oil pump ,water pump etc ,the horror stories ive read were mainly for 2.o tdi,s with oil pump probs , would welcome any feedback ,cheers

you have been reading too many horror stories on the 2.0tdi calm yourself down relax and enjoy your motor you will easily put over 250k on that engine with the right servicing

but if you see the oil preasure light with 3 beeps pull over and get it checked

thanx 4 reply ,was thinking of fitting new oil pump just 4 peace of mind !!! ,so u think theres no major issues with the 1.9,s ?

No point wasting your money

if your going to do anything do a full service and cam belt and water pump for peace of mind

The 1.9tdi engine is as robust as they come, the 2.0tdi engine is of different design and has some well documented Audi design faults.
There are many 1.9tdi engines out there with in excess of 150k trouble free miles on the clock.
