Happy New Year to all forum users.
97 1.8T A4, the heater blower has suddenly started faulting, I will describe as best I can. The screen still displays the temperature and the power level of the blower still shows up, and all the +/- controls work, the issue is either no air coming through OR a knocking noise starts with a trickle of air, 1 person says electrical get it on a diagnostic, another says bushes on motor, any advice?
Thanks

More than likely brushes in the motor mate you can take brushe out and stretch the springs so they make contact again or just buy new bushes on eBay for about a fiver they are easy to change, fan is behind glove box, remove glovebox five screws I think and take motor out.

Are there any guides or help for the blower motor on later models?
Mine is an 07 plate, with passenger air bag fitted.
all controls light up, but no movement from the blower.
Motor looks different to the ones I've seen in the guides.
Thanks.

Not sure on the B7/B8 models.

My knowledge of motors is limited my friend but I do know your 07 plate is a B7 chassis shape,
05 to 08 is B7, so it seems you're in the wrong part of the forum, go into the B7 section,
There are enough people on here that will know exactly what you have to do or send you a link to the
Correct guide. Everybody's always ready to help on this forum mate
