Have heard a lot of good things about The Phirm recently and seriously considering using them once I've purchased my S3 despite living a fair way away from them.

Noticed on their Facebook page that they are currently working on a 500bhp S3 for a customer (anyone on here?)
be very interested to see the results

That's just plain naughty !
M3 killer me thinks

It looks lovely and great work going in there ,but the cost is going hurt ...

Wow! How much for a job like that? Faster than a R8?

If I remember,The Phirm did much of the work on Andy Oram's old S3,before he blew a piston.
By all accounts they do good work,to a high standard.
But....they aren't the only 500Bhp S3's around......S3-Dan had one before moving to a different Audi, and mine also hits that mark.
Cost......if you do it properly,(and there isn't any way you shouldn't),then you would be looking at the thick end of £6-7k assuming you've done all of the other work like suspension and brakes.

That's the kit that Revo are marketing and is basically similar to the BSH kit so it's well made and good.

The valve kit isn't strictly necessary unless you really want to lift the rpm limit and use the ragged edge of the engine and turbo but it does allow for that.

All in,it looks excellent and should deliver.

There are though,as I said, a number of S3s running this sort of power and the Loba kit should open it up to a lot of people wanting maybe a bit less than 500bhp but more than the old K04 can offer.

I wonder how much it cost to insure such beast:D. Probably another 6k lol!
Depends on age and use......mine costs around £600 for that sort of power, with all of the mods declared.

wow thats next to nothing who are you insured with if you dont mind me asking?
Dont forget I'm an old git,and I'm insured with Greenlight.
I wouldn't try to put anyone off a BT build, but anyone thinking about it needs to cost it very carefully, and make sure they've done everything else, like brakes, suspension and so on,and that they also factor in things like big intercoolers, engine mounts, and a seriously good clutch like the Spec Stg3+ or it may end in tears, even after costing the kit plus fitting.

Your right Alex, too many think they can just fit the kit and thats it. They forget that ALOT of parts need uprating to cope with the power.

Too true.

The stock internals are good for around 440lbs on a reliable basis and obviously when changing those it makes sense to do the pistons and any other parts too.

The valves don't need to be done unless you're after 8000+ rpm which most of us won't.

WMI is far more useful.

Actually faster than a lot of things, which is where the fun comes in.
Mine is around 500+bhp currently, and that gives you around 350bhp/tonne,and providing you anticipate lag etc(which isn't bad to be honest),then you have a car which will deal with a surprising selection of very expensive cars.
What you do have to remember,is that it's quite a porky hatchback, and needs an equal amount of money put into the brakes and suspension.
