Hi everyone I'm getting a S3 again on Tuesday in ibis white with the recaro bucket seat any way I'll make a thread about it when I pick it up next week. My question is which of these wheels do you reckon would suit the car? And me and my friend have been debating if I should buy them because I wont be lowering the car he says it would look like a job half done I said it would look fine what does everyone think?

BBS LM STYLE ALLOY WHEEL AUDI VW SEAT 18" x 8" 5x112 | eBay

Dare RS 18' 8J+9.5J 5x112 5x100 BRAND NEW | eBay

I always think BBS LMs look small, and usually need to be an inch bigger than other styles to have the same impact.

Sorry but that style wheel just doesn't suit the S3 imho.
Copies are a no no also, they just detract from the car.
If you can afford the car surely you can afford genuine wheels?

BBS and you're gonna need to lower it man. Your mate's right... :p

I disagree.

C'est Magnifique

Not into this style of wheel at all. I remember a mate with them on an f reg ml2 golf back in 99! Past it IMO, obviously just my opinion though ;)

Crikey....you guys must spend an age cleaning your alloys with all those spokes!!! Ha Ha....I'll stick to 5 spoke standard alloys...much easier!
Hats off to you though for doing a great job on them....they all look great!

The dares but in 19" 9.5j back 8.5j front on 215 tyres then drop it

Hahahaha.....because you clearly know it all
They are horrible! I wouldn't take my car out the garage with them on it :puke2:

Thats ok because you wouldnt be baller enough to drive it. This thing has collected more trophies at shows than any other S3 out there

If that's what your into then fair enough.

I just prefer to keep mine usable, no point in having it if you can't drive flat out on a B road!

I'd rather have some opposite lock on a twisty road on a Sunday than being parked up in a field all day and winning a trophy.

Again tho, each to their own.

I'll be honest Ian, whilst I love your car they're not what I'd choose as I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay too old to be a baller!

The trophies stand testament to the quality or work and effort invested, and I think where VAG scene is right now means your car is absolutely 'on trend' for the intended niche / shows, but for old b*****ds like me I'd just look like Mr Midlife crisis if I drove a car with such bold rims!

If it's got more than five spokes I'm not cleaning it ;-)

Those are his show wheels, he drives with 18" rotors for the daily hack.

So he can drive through twistys, his car did 3.8 to 60 at Inters. Best of both worlds I'd say Ian ;)

There is no need to worry, I do get full lock, it doesnt rub and I do thrash the hell out of it, on both BBS's and the Rotor's.

It did a 3.88 to 60 and 12.68 quarter mile at Inters.....on the BBS full dropped!

Its FAR too low for any of the roads I'm on up here in the North.
I'm swithering about even putting H&R's on it haha.

I'm also too old for those wheels, 30 is the cut off for that sort of bling I've been told.
31 sucks :-(

From Urban Dictionary (so it must be true):

A thug that has "made it" to the big time. Originally refered ball players that made it out of the streets to make millions as a pro ball player, but now is used to describe any thug that is living large.
Pain is a part of the game when you're a baller.

2. One whose person has been fully and successfully established in numerous social circles (esp. one who is extremely popular with both the male and female members of any given social group)
3. One whose status in society has been earned by one's possession of "game" (that is, proficiency at the game of life)

(Adj)
1. Exhibiting those qualitites of a baller; not limited to the description of a person, 'baller' may be used to describe any place, thing or situation.
(N)
1. "Kobe Bryant... now THAT kid's a baller"
2. "Wanna be a baller, shot caller, twenty inch blades on the impala, caller getting laid tonight..."
3. "Hey yo! Don't let nobody else up in this booth. I see nothing but gansters up in here, I see nothing but ballers up in here..."

(Adj)
1. "This Sh*t is baller"

Suburbanation of 'Baller':
"Wow, that man is really quite 'on the ball'."

Appealing; cool; favorable; pimp; tight; anything that is good.
That is so damn baller!

Well there is haha. We can't all be the same now can we.
I highly doubt I'd be the only one, they are not exactly to everyone's taste.

In MY opinion this is perfection!

Well, i agree with you, that S3 is perfection, for its use. Everyone have their own taste, and thats awesome, because if everyone had the same taste, it would just be so boring.

Ians A3 and the A3 you postet a picture of are pure epic, just in different ways! ;)

Woops have to be careful here obviously a bit of sensitivity about insulting peoples pride and joy, can't take away from people their hard work and recognition. Just saying i had 7 x13 gold BBS Alloys on my old 73 A series Manta when i were a lad (20 years ago!) spent alot of time on that car making it fast but looking standard bar subtle lowering and wheels. SO yeah to me they just look old fashioned on such a modern car. And i dont do stick on/add on carbon fibre interiors to a car it's plain wrong. Or a car decked so low it looks painful for your privates. But Im 42!
I prefer a subtle look and always have. The ride height and wheels of that one Crunchie to look close to perfect although i wouldn't have them black! So yeah each to their own, go with what you like and dont let anyone put you off!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. End of really. No point you lot trying to convince each other...

It would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing. I came from the RenaultSport scene where litterally, most of the cars looked exactly the same.
