Gauging interest - team dynamics pro race 1.2 - potential group buy

OZ wheels are nice and multispoke and i think the ultraleggers are lightweight too so that could be another option to look for as a groupbuy opportunity

Yeah they are another favourite of mine but OZ seem to come out fairly expensive. I've just been looking at the Rotiform BLQ too but they aren't cheap but damn sexy.

Yeah a quick search suggest the lightweight OZ`s being a bit pricey

I agree with Liam, I think our best bet is to stick with the TD Pro Race 1.2 wheels and search around for a different supplier

I've been hunting about online all morning and I've not had much luck. Would definitely need to speak to a distributor. I really thought that a budget of £500 would be good enough to get a decent set of 17" wheels without tyres, obviously not!

I'm getting fed up with wheels now.

Found another set of wheels I like. Price was £444 inc delivery and fitting kit for 17x8. Was about to buy then spotted that the lowest offset is ET35! :banghead:

yup, they are a ******...I think we should approach dealers for the Pro Race 1.2 wheels, we should get a better deal

Ultralites? They`re cheap but again the offsets arent amazing. Battles for instance on ebay at around £500 with delivery with a wheel weight of 8.5kg each but again the offset is 35.

I'm quite happy to stick with TD 1.2s if we can them for a decent price.
Personally I would be over the moon with OZ Superturismo LMs!
OZ offer the same variety of colours and offsets as TD, but sadly the premium will put many off. This said, a couple of months ago I did email one of the main distributors in Italy and was able to offer me a really good deal on set of Ultraleggeras @ €800 delivered, although not sure many on here will want to more than £500 tops which is perfectly understandable.

However I could ask if the interest is there.

guys what about approaching a retailer and not limiting people to one brand of wheel. would probobly help with numbers that way and getting better discount??

Daz, I think that all going for one brand would help prices. If we all have a different brand/type etc then we're only getting 1 or 2 pieces of one particular wheel rather than like 20 - so the price drop will be much less

lol, i need a set cuz both of my rear are buckled due to my previous owner being (apparently) unable to drive

True true, should be a good one may have a mate from work joining as well :)

Sorry for the thread derail ;)

Right then, Munch, you want a hand sending the list off to potential suppliers?

Yes please mate, I'll get the list written up in excel as it should make it easier to read / print

I also have the PDF for the offsets etc, so pm me your email adds and I'll forward them onto you

People who have seen this will know. We need 20 people to get a fantastic discount.

Well, that would put my 18"x8Js at £559.20 delivered; which is the best I've seen. Only thing I remember is he said they would be made with 73.1 universal bore - our bores are 57.1 no?

Correct, but included in the fitting kit are spigot rings that convert it down

That would make mine 17x8 £546 delivered which I think is ok only a little more than I was hoping to spend.

I'm up for this now but I don't think we'll get 20 definite buyers. Not having a dig at anyone here but It's always the way with group buys, I think some people are expecting to get things for peanuts.

Shall we start a list of definite buyers who have the cash ready to buy if this GB did now happen at the maximum 45% discount?

If Andy is offering me the 1.2 deal(17" 7.5/Anthracite) @£500 I'm in.
What about you Hammy?

I'm in close to £500 suits me fine. I see Colly has his up for sale so guessing he won't be getting any new wheels.

I'm in for that price; btw, AwesomeGTI have a sale on TD wheels at the moment - which I read as "we've got a lot of TD stock we need to shift" - anyone mind if I give them a try?

I saw that and priced some up with them and it was still over £600. Feel free to contact them direct though and see I they can do anything.

Aye, I noticed. If Colly wrapped it in Dolphin Grey I'd have it in an instant.

So would the 17x8 alloys be £500 delivered including fitting kit etc or is that on top of the £500?

I just priced up mine from awsesome GTI and for the anthracite they came in at £120 more expensive also couldn't see any mention of fixing kit in that price!!

I've just priced mine up Pro Race 1.2 Anthracite 17"*7.5 : £396 + £5 for locking nuts + £15 for delivery + VAT = £499.20

If I got my maths right, please put my name down as a definite!

@Munch - sorted.
