hi folks,

newbie here, i have just bought a 2.0 tdi 140bhp black edition 3dr, slightly damaged, love the car already, i will have many questions over the coming weeks as i get my car back to mint condition, so please dont get irritated by me, lol.

the pic is the car before damage, the girl i bought it from hit a roundabout,

osf wheel & tyre, already replaced.
osf hub carrier, hub, wheel bearing, already replaced.
osf wheel pushed back 10mm, no damage to chassis leg or wishbone, minor adjustments underneath.
drivers side cill needs replacing, she jacked car in wrong place and pushed up the cill.
osf plastic inner wheel arch.
all the plastic trays underneath the car.
osf new wing.
new front bumper and all brackets ect ect.

sounds a lot worse than it actually is, i have had it all checked since the replacement hub, and re aligned the wheel, by optiflex 4 wheel alignment and all perfect now, just cosemtics.

after purchasing the car i was amazed at how well it pulled for 140bhp, however after a few days it has lost power dramaticaly, i suspect it may have had a free trial remap on it, is there any way of finding out????

Trial maps are usually just for 1 week so I doubt it is that. Hopefully nothing else wrong. Any excessive smoke?

The car drives, starts, faultless.
It has only covered 25k,
It seems strange, I have had new tyres fitted but
That should not make a difference, before it really
Did pull really hard to the point were I thought
This will give my zafira vxr a run for it's money,
Then a few days ago I got in it and a real big
Loss in power, now it pulls progressively were before
It felt more like a big hit, so to speak.

You are probably getting used to the extra oomph, always happens when you buy a faster car, there after it just seems like any other car until you drive another car with less power. Go and drive a Zafira again and it will seem really slow and your A3 will seem fast.

To be fair buddy my zaf is 240bhp so should be a fair bit quicker.
I have noticed that the audi when in neutral was extremely rev happy,
Were as now it's not, baffled, it's more than me just getting used to it.
I did notice a very strong diesel fummy smell the other day from the exhaust
Then my wife opened the hatch and said the fumes were making her eyes sore
Hmmmmm weird.

hi,
half leather, no sat nav, has everything else.
it was approx 4k less than any other 3dr with 25k on
but it was minor damaged, not recorded hence why i
bought it, got most parts second hand all genuine and fitted my self,
just getting the cosmetics sorted now with all new genuine parts.

some help needed,

i have just also had to replace the osf susspenstion leg as it was like a bannana,
before i replaced the hub carrier ect the steering was bang on straight, since i have replaced the hub carrier, hub, wheel bearing, & now the leg, the steering is slightly out, we never touched the track rod end just bolted back up, so should all be as before?????????

Are you sure it wasn't the weather causing that? My TDI absolutely flies when it's really cool and windy, in hot weather my performance is drastically reduced.

yes i know what you mean my old leon cupra r used to suffer boost cut in colder weather due to over boosting,
however this is too much of a difference, maybe its just me as just before i got it i was using a vauxhall agila 0-60 in 1 week, so this felt really quick, and maybe i am just getting used to it, lol.

just had a brain wave, the lass i got it from must have had a garage sort the tracking whilst the bent parts were still on, and now i have replaced them all its out again, lazer tracking time me thinks.
