Hi all new here,

My son's thinking of buying a 58 reg 3.0 tdi A4 quattro se 6 spd manual with 108k on the
clock, it's got FSH, i'm a retired mechanic and was wondering if their is anything common
fault wise to check for.

thanks in advice all for any info

Alan.

Think the Op says he is a mechanic not the previous owner. It's like anything, something can go wrong no matter how well it is looked after. I find as long as it has been serviced and had regular oil changes then usually it is only minor things that pop up every now and then.

My Bad, i was rushing reading it as i was in a rush to watch a T.V Programme haha !

DPF is the only thing that i cam think of.

It should be ok if it been looked after.

DPF, clutch/flywheel, egr cooler - loss of coolant.
Have had bother with them all apart from the DPF so far!

Ive had a few now and only thing Ive had issues with is inlet manifold motor which is quite common on the 3.0 and 2.7, when they go wrong it puts the management light on, car still drives fine but light is annoying, they can be taken off and serviced which sometimes is a fix.
