Afternoon all. Finally made it here after being on another few Audi sites. Seen the logo around and thought I'd join to say howdy!

Welcome to ASN. What car you got? Hope you enjoy the forum. :)

Evening again all.

So, got myself the Audi bug after playing around with a company TT 180 convertible. Missus liked it, as did I. Then borrowed a standard A6, nice but a little too big and didn't feel quite the same enjoyment wise. Eventually started looking around and found this little beauty.
2004 B6 S4 4.2 Cabrio. Not enough extras from the factory, but the price I paid reflected that...

Had only 2 previous and one was a Huntingdon Audi staff member until around 20k in less than two years, then the reaming were added by the 2nd owner driving from Cambridge to Epsom, EVERY DAY! Fuel bills much!?! I got it with 141k on the clock, but full Audi servicing. Albeit their over optimistic long life servicing, now off that.

Tracked it once, that was fun with the lads on SRS at Castle Combe for ADI 2010.

(Note the slightly incorrect pressure on my rear left tyre, could have ended badly... but thankfully it just bulged out and needed binning the next day. Better that than the not-so-big run-off into the Coombe's walls).

Can't wait to do that again. Just doing the usual things to it first/since. All front arms etc upgraded to 034motorsport items.

The also got these done, they were pretty awfully corroded and curbed, don't think they'd ever been done.

Only other mods so far:

LED side-lights up front

Replacing the aerial module cables to the boot lid, common on these cabs

Some 'go-faster' valve caps!

And the all important graph:

Sorry for going on a bit there, and being a pic whore ;-)
Hope to continue my learning adventures with you all.

Regards,
Al.

Lovely car, thanks for posting the pics Al. Enjoy :racer: It. :)

Hi Ali,

Hello and welcome mate,

Nice pics, great looking car you have and in the best colour obviously. Alloys are looking like immaculate, almost like they have just had a refurb lol.

Just be nice to get a front end respray next...

Hi Ali,

Nice car, i have the same car although a lowly 1.8t.

Looks good, what are the plans?

Do you have links to the arms etc?

Thanks,

Bowen

Cheers all.

Believe me, on refuling days I wish it was an 1800t. But the daily driver is a tdi golf, so balances out, kind of.
Control Arm Kit, Density Line, OE B6 and B7 A4 and S4 - 034 MOTORSPORT
i think that's the kit I got. Has transformed the ride so much. Another problem with such a lump over the front axle, they can eat arms.

Been advised the 22mm rear ARB is a must. If I go for that, think that'll do suspension wise. Don't want the poor old girl falling to bits. 154,000 miles so far!

Still need to do both aux rads, and both rocker cover gaskets. Maybe a front end respray?

Do want an exhaust at some point, just to extenuate the lower burble a bit. Pretty sure bank 2 cat is burnt out. I've replace about 4 or 5 coil packs, Audi did the rest.

Rnse with tv and bluetooth would be nice too.

Maybe a supercharger!

Have been keeping a close eye on for sale threads on a few forums and the bay. Heard they go for about £2,500 from the stealers...
The other thing I'm considering is a Hoffle bumper update. Almost a facelift from b6 to b7. Lot less work by the looks of it.

I should also say that both aux rads were done, rocker cover gaskets done, rear wheel bearing done, rear anti roll bar done, the all important cup holder replaced. cat-back milltek installed last week, but seems to keep moving about an inch when it's really hot.
Today got these:

So will do that Saturday, as part of learning how to use this lot I got in the post this week as well. (They must think I'm really sad at work where all this car stuff gets delivered...)

arf-arf :) If it was anything **ggering me it was the difficulties I had getting that damn thing on straight and square. Easy getting it on, but adjusting took me twice as long. Slowly slowly I'm getting happier and happier with it.
