Hi there ,any one seen ,heard ,or anyone done this conversion? Seen the b5 rs4 v6 engine in a s3 8l ,but never seen it in a s3 8p.:)

The 4.2 wouldn't fit in an 8P engine bay, it barely fits into the B7!

That B5/8L conversion is pretty sweet, he's got the quad exhausts and everything - rapid!

Lol,thats probally why i,ve never seen one :)

It's a nice conversion, but the rear looks:lmfao:Any videos or links

I've seen that car on here before.....as has been said, the current RS4 engine barely fits into the A4 bay,and in any case,is a longitudinal engine, running a Torsen diff.
Not to say it can't be done, but you'd need to do a shedload of cutting, and a lot more.
You'd maybe have better luck trying to fit an RS3 engine.

im sure there was 1 over on ASN last year
ill look when im home later see if i can find it.

Surely thats the case for the 2.7 V6 fitted to this 8L??

Like I said nothing is impossible but I can't see sense in sticking a 4.2l V8 in an S3 as it will be even more nose heavy.

I remember it looking better than that... and although I get why he's badged it RS3, I don't approve.

Having thought about it anyway, surely a turbo bolted to a 3.2 VR6 would be better than the 2.7. And it'd definitely fit since the R32 exists, obviously, and can be blown/supercharged.

Doubt it would fit to be honest. Sure it would be fast in a straight line and sound unreal but it'd handle like ****e! S3s are bad for understeer already, an extra few hundred kgs in under the hood will only make matters worse!

I've recently been thinking about the 3.0 V6 TDI lump in an 8P. Bags of power, decent economy. Someone do it!!

I've been thinking of that for months:think: .........Just want to know how big of a J.O.B it is .....and if it's possible.

the possibility of a 3-400bhp quattro diesel A3 excites me. I just dont know whether that lump will fit being longitudinally mounted as opposed to transversely as found in all A3s currently.

I'd be tempted to may it look sleeper-esque, standard s-line trim, just two oval RS style exhaust tips on the rear, probably in black

This was indeed owned by a member on the 8L section - last sold for approx 18k I believe.

Apparently it was QST's entrance into the tuning world, think it took 300 man hours, or similar to build.... involved the complete drive train transplant too, lots of hard work :)

There should be some vids on Youtube of it demolishing a Lambo (one of the newer ones) and an M6

Would be tight as **** if even possible. The 3.0V6tdi is a proper V6 with 2 separate heads unlike the 3.2 which has 1 cylinder head for all cylinders.

Oh yeah, like that! Forgot all about these crazy 8Ls. I think the 0-400 one is maybe a little OTT, but you get the idea.

Exactly what I said earlier.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

The idea of a V8 under the hood of an S3 is funny for sure, but the handling would be diabolical unless it was moved well back into the car,and then all of the other issues dealt with.

This....

John-sleath.com audi page

Has to be one of the craziest "Audis" ever, even if the engine isn't exactly VAG in origin, but it's the product of a proper drag racer.

Wow ,john -sleaths car is something else..:) any links to s3fazs mtm s3v6 ...
