H&R springs fitted, now suspension bottoms out

So I have fitted some H&R springs on my S3, I also replaced the upper strut mounts and bearings so with those done the front hasn't been lowered that much compared to when the collapsed strut mounts were on with std springs.
My problem is when I go over speed bumps a little to fast, like a slight bit faster than a snail, the front shocks hit the bump stops
I have to go reverse snail pace over speed humps not to hit the bump stops.
Does it sound like the shocks are dead?
They are monroe and manufactured in 2010. Can't see them doing to much mileage as the car only has 112 000 km's (70K miles)

Lowered springs normally need shocks with shorter pistons in them so they don't crash out and retain damping capabilities... driving any speed over speed bumps with lowered suspension will more than likely hit the stops..

I'm surprised about this happening. I had eibachs on my polo with standard shocks and they never crashed out. I know its not the same platform but thought since the H&R springs are not that much of a drop I wouldn't need to worry. The polo probably had more shock travel than the S3 does.

Can anyone recommend short shocks for the S3, only need front as rears are fine.

The Eibachs sit a bit higher than H&Rs at the front, I've never had my Eibach bottom out, even driving swiftly over speedbumps! Saying that, I never had this problem with H&R springs neither going over the same speed bumps. But both my cars ran Bilstein shocks!!

If you are going to change the front shocks for uprated ones, then I'd recommend you change the rears aswell to balance it out!

It is probably a good idea hey.
How is this price, seems a lot cheaper than others, less than GBP 400 for 2 front pieces. Anyone used this company, as I dont live in the UK, I am a little suspect of this being a lot cheaper than other. Just call me PARANOID

did you cut down the bumpstops as the standerd ones will be to long with a drop most lowering spring kit tell you to

Yip, they only an inch long now. Thought about removing them to see how it goes but I will get bilsteins, a little later tho as I have just bought a lot for my stroker engine.

just so you know for when the time comes.....the Bilstein B8s have internal bump stops
