Hi,

Im just wondering does anyone on the forum know where a decent and reliable garage to do this in kent? I recently bought a Audi A3 Quattro S-line 140 which has been remapped with Revo, And a full Powerflow Exhaust with De-Cat fitted and the clutch has started to make a wired noice..sort of shaking metal when you pull off in 1st...sorry if this sounds vague. I want to achieve around 230 bhp is this possible by doing this or are further mods/details needed?

Thanks.

Hi S3Alex,

Thanks for your reply i have heard good things about AMD but they seem quite pricey..i have a bugget of around £800-£1000 i dont know were to source a hybrid turbo from or whats the best for my car and how much they cost?

You may get cheaper but that doesn't always mean better.

A decent hybrid alone may cost you most or all of your budget unless you either buy used or use your own as a donor.

I'd just suggest not ever doing this sort of thing on the cheap as it often ends badly.

I will also recomend AMD essex , top blokes who will look after your car .

maybe expensive ,but buy cheap and you usually end up buying twice to rectify!
as for your clutch noise it possibly sounds like the dual mass fly wheel.

For work I have had done at AMD I think they are quite reasonable price wise. service always seems good too.

Okay thanks for your replys i think i will give AMD a go, As my car is a quattro hadndling wise it should easily cope with the higher bhp? my car has also been lowered by the previous owner i think by 40mm on apex springs.

Have a chat with Ben,and he'll look after you.

The power shouldn't be a problem, but they'll give you all the help you need.

Does anyone know best clutch to get? Ive read on the Forum and Sachs, LUK keep popping up i just want to get a complete kit and get a local garage to fit it.

If you're going to AMD,then get them to quote you for the Sachs or maybe Loba.

Sorry...can't help you on that as I don't buy parts from ebay.

If the feedback is good, and can be verified it may be OK.

Okay I have been told a Southbend stage 2 Endurance clutch is good for my car? and i have enquired about the hybrid and no ones seen one of the PD140 hybrids make much more than 210hp and drivability is quite poor?

Turbo Technics do a hybrid for around £650 aswell.

I am going to AMD for the Hybrid but as i live 50- 60 miles away near Dover i need clutch done locally as its getting worse..will this do? AUDI A3 2.0 TDI QUATTRO SACHS DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL, CLUTCH & CSC SLAVE BEARING | eBay
you must be just round the corner from me then! :ninja:there are some bad places to have your car worked on around here - steer clear of ashford motorsports (now in dover!) for one:lmfao:! I would recommend Kent VW in margate..
Home
they are an independent and have worked on my 4motion, s3, TT, Q7 and a3quattro doing a multitude of clutches/suspension and brake bits.. Definitely give them a bell and talk to Stuart or John. All mechanics are audi & vw techs with years of experience and much better than the main dealerships. I take brand new cars there without worrying..:)
but for remapping and further tuning rather than consumables like brakes/clutch I would go to AMD as big Alex says...

If there is one to fit your car, I'd recommend a Spec clutch.
I have a race spec example on mine and the thing is as tough as they come.

AMD are dealers for these.

Otherwise I'd still recommend the Sachs or Loba.
Drop Simon at Loba a line if you want some free helpful advice.
He was superb when I was trying to choose clutches.

Hi Quattro81,

Nice to find a fellow local member :salute: thanks for the info i will enquire with them...i have also heard of S-line Automotive in ashford have you heard of them?

Not sure that I have, fella? But I can recommend Kentvw for sure, my q7 is going in there on weds for a couple of bits...

Anyone fitted a Stainless Steel Manifold to a tdi if so did you get any gains from it?

I may have a new Turbo Technics turbo for sale soon.

Remember though the turbo price is based on exchange only with them, so buying outright will add more costs.

Try Dean @ 4Rings

He got me a genuine k04 and fitted when mine went 2 years back.

Top bloke really know his shizzle with audis. He used to work for audi.

Ah okay i would be very interested if you wanted to sell send me a pm or something if you do, I know the price goes up which is a bummer as my turbo works fine atm so dont know if its better to exchange or sell 2nd hand.

Okay thanks for the info S3 TAM was he well priced? need to find a garage with no VAT lol

Okay so i have got in contact with AMD and they have quoted £1029 + VAT for Sachs performance Plate and cover, New Dual Mass flywheel and labour and £865 for the hybrid with out fitting. Im on a tight budget so does anyone know where to get the sachs clutch cheaper? and it seem that turbo technics are the cheapest for the hybrid.

Please remember what a few of us said earlier.
It's easy to find cheap, but it's also easy to regret later.

The price is pretty well on target but you will get something that's put together properly.

I know on petrol cars this is a good upgrade to do if you heat wrap it this will increase exhaust gas flow and bhp...but im not sure on diesels though.

As for the clutch and hybrid i would buy it online try MD481 Stage 2 Hybrid Turbo for VAG 2.0TDI 140bhp engines MD481 Stage 2 Hybrid Turbo for VAG 2.0TDI 140bhp engines [MD481] - £885.00 : Turbo Dynamics, Turbochargers & Performance Products or Turbo Technics Hybrid shop - Turbo Technics and get a local garage to fit it i used a mate that owned a garage to buy the turbo so i dont pay VAT and fit it for £100.

Clutch try Kupplung - Sachs Performance Sportkupplung Fahrwerk Verstärke Kupplung i think all the companys get the clutchs direct from ZF either way you looking at around £700 for the performance clutch.

Hope this helps.

Okay thanks i'll check that site out, i have a friend in finland who has recomended a company called Fin-Turbo based there dont know if anyone has dealt with them on here though?
