Airbag light on after Service, seat was moved is this the dreaded broken wire connect

Hello, recently had the s3 serviced and the mechanic is a midget, the driver seat was moved and now the airbag light is on! Any thoughts? Is this a coincidence or is it true that there is common problem with the air bag light connectors being disjointed under the front seats? Anyone had any experiences with this?

Most likely nothing to worry about and probably the connector / wires under the seat but you will need to clear the code before the dash light goes out, if it persists cut and crimp the wires or solder (ie remove the block connecter).

Thanks very much for the quick informed reply, I'll try and sort it next week end, will any of this prevet the airbags from firing though and once reset and reconnected will they all work fine? Thanks for your help in advance

If the airbag light is on, there's basically a fault, and non of it is active. If it's off, then all is well and should operate as intended.

Get your car scanned first, I'm sure your mechanic will help you out, it will tell you exactly why your airbag light is on! Main culprit is the block connectors under the seats, all you need to do is take them apart, spray some WD40/electrical contact cleaner, refit and reset the light. Usually clears the problem in 95% of cases.

In such an instance where the side airbags are inactive (because of bad wiring) or any other airbag, all other airbags will still function in the event of an accident, so dont worry.

i had the same problem on my previous s3... ended up cutting the connector off and soldering the wires together, only problem doing this is it creates a bit more work if you ever need to remove the seats, but i didn't mind that.

obviously don't start hacking things without scanning it first
