New car "62" plate delivery

Lets be honest Dan aberdeen audi never try to sell the cars they all sit about waiting for you to approach them but i get what your saying. You getting yours today or tomorrow
 
Yeah you're totally right. In all fairness though, I prefer that to being hounded constantly when you just go in for a browse...

Today thankfully, at 5pm they will be dropping it off! :)

Then the long wait until midnight begins so that I'm actually able to drive it! Haha.

Yeah, pretty much! :) I think that it will give me time to get all the MMI set up and try everything out rather than doing it while on the first drive...

Nope, she has no idea it's coming in today. I have the Superman badge on the front of the VXR so she'd said I need something for the Audi and bought me some Autobot badges for the front wings under the S-Line badges. Once it's delivered I'm just gonna walk in and ask her if she wants to help me put them on. ;)

Oh and Dan make sure and check in the glovebox for the plastic valet key. Someone my folks knows didnt realise it was in there and had their A5 nicked. It usually has its own mount in the glovebox

Haha, thankfully I do all of my forum-ing on my work computer and phone - both of which I have with me just now so there will be no peeking over my shoulder until it gets here! ;)

Well I've managed to keep my excitement hidden this long so hopefully I'll be able to keep it going for three more hours. I'll just blame it on a slow day at work and too much coffee! :)

Thanks very much for the advice Simon, I'll make sure that I take it out as soon as just in case. You'd like to think that Audi would tell you these things when they gave you the car huh? Surely that would mean you insurance wasn't valid to boot because you'd technically left a key in the car?! :unsure:
 
yeah they never told my old man about the one in his A5 he only found out when the other one was stolen. Thankfully it was recovered so not a big deal with insurance but i guess technically you wouldnt be covered.
 
Yours may not have it as you wont have the slot in the dash for the fob to go into will you? the valet key for the A5 is a plastic fob exactly like the main fob but without the buttons for opening the doors.

Yeah, I think that it still has the slot but then all the keyless entry, start button, etc. is on it as well. I think I remember hearing that it's so you can still drive it if the radio transponder part of it goes t!ts up.

Yeah the last two cars I've had were white so I've decided to go for something a bit different. Sick of the white now. :)

We've been struggling getting a car to fit two booster seats and a new baby car seat in so after searching (tried all sorts Vaux Zafira; VW Torano; Ford S-max) we decided it makes sense to chop in the S4 for the Q7. Hopefully it will be a long term vehicle as the kids will just keep growing lol....already asked to dealer to add our private plate 'ST11NKA' and get the alloys refurbed in anthracite, plus think we'll need black spitter and diffuser (Why can't we just leave things alone!).

I'm keeping the S3 as a show car and Andrew will be using the Navara for work plus looking for a weekend toy

Only have a couple issues so far. The privacy glass that comes standard with the black editions has not been fitted to the car and they didn't give me an AMI cable. I'll be heading in tomorrow for a wee chat I think!

Looks awesome strange the windows ain't tinted like. They will have to put the car into motorwerks and get that sorted.
 
Yeah she was very surprised!

The thing is that the Audi glass is actually tinted rather than it being a film so don't know what they're gonna do!

Will be picking up my AMI cable tomorrow for sure though. ;)
 
I think they will offer tinting them but I'm sure if you dig your heels in then they would have to order the correct windows.

Well maybe I read it wrong then but it used to and still comes on the A3 BE. I'll double check tomorrow when I pick up my AMI cable. :)

Is there anything to look out for with the cable as I've heard there's a blue and red version?
 
im not sure about the versions but make sure you get both the ipod cable and the usb one
 
only the BE avant comes with tinted windows, sucha shame really as i think tinted rears add a little bit of class to it.

Balls... Oh well then I'll just have to live with it for the time being. Might get them done a bit later on.

i think its common for dealers not to give the cables, they are meant to order them in to put with the cars.
 
Audi use a company called Pentagon for tinting..........mines booked in for 9am Wednesday, the day after delivery. Light smoke from the B pillar back:icon_thumright:

Not 100% sure if they are Nationwide, but going direct saves the Audi mark up!!
