My s3 2001 facelift has been driving me crazy for a while now :( when driving slowly or in traffic it's fine but when putting your foot down I boost what i should but it keeps on holding back sometimes it's ok, I thought it was a misfiring well feels like that so I thought I would change the spark plugs and coil packs, so changed them today still the same :( checked for faults prior that with my vag scanner and I'm getting 01279 longitudinal acceleration sensor which I knew about when my abs and esp lights were coming on in the past,
but I cleared the fault and and it was fine for a while now it's come back surely this can't cause all these problems can it ? I have no other faults

Could it be a boost leak sometimes sounds like it or something collapsing, I have checked around and seems ok was thinking the puck valve could be faulty or maybe n75 just don't know

Please help

id go to a garage and have it smoke tested for boost/air leaks before anything else!

Well... do the obvious stuff first mate... check all the pipes under the inlet manifold... and by check I mean pull and poke them about... a tell tale sign is oil... if there is oil on the outside covering stuff then its been blow out from somewhere...

A smoke test would help if there is someone local to you that can do it...

Whats the idle like?...

Paul, my idle is slightly bumpy, presume that again points to PCV leak?

Saying that mate there is a little oil that I noticed today at the back to the right of the inlet manifold should I take of the mani to have a good look will try and take some pictures and post them up

Just need to get involved under the bonnet more, get to grips with the car like I did with the Clio. Think the TIP refit and PCV needs to be the start of it. Potentially do the Catchcan as well.
