Hi guys,

So as I knew would happen; as the car is getting nice new brakes, I'm yearning after more poowwaarrrr!

I know that for Stage 2, I need the following on top of my standard setup (stage 1 map, B5 TIP, Jetex and 007p)

FMIC
3" DP and cat/decat
Possibly Exhaust, undecided as of yet

What would be the best fitting and cost effective choice of products? I realise I also need a map, but plan on travelling to Bill's for fitting and mapping.

Cheers for all input!

Jamie

Some people will suggest rods to you due to the age of the car. What's your budget?

No budget in mind, rods hadn't crossed my mind...

mapped now?
what boost does it run currently? (peak and hold)

Mapped by AMD Essex, but pretty certain it has a boost leak. I have a log that I'll post up again for you, Bill.

edit; most recent logs, asked Paul and he mentioned it's requesting but not holding boost levels, which points to a leak. I still think (based on the 226 it pulled on AMD rollers pre B5 TIP and remap) that they have fitted it incorrectly. The car made 250horses post remap and TIP and goes through fuel like you wouldn't believe. Actually, maybe you would

82k on an 02 plate. Seems to pull strong, no issues what so ever in my three year ownership (touches every piece of wood in the office).

I haven't checked, but can do - what would this point to? You know me mate, as mechnically minded as a doormouse!

Haha would point to failing turbo seals or blocked PCV system. Any oil going into the intake will hinder performance.

Why did I think that was only on older models? Perhaps the N24something bypass... I'll have a gander tonight when I fit my replacement Jetex.

Still interested in any feedback btw Bill/Westy et al on Stg2.

Any turbo car can suffer from tired seals. The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) is the pipe that comes off the top of the rocker cover and to the oil filter housing including the TIP. This is where it will blow oil into the TIP and will work it's way round to the inlet manifold.

Other issues are tired MAF or N75.

I asked about your budget as mine has spiralled out of control and is currently on revo stage 2 software. I have got to the extent when I need larger fuel injectors as mine are maxed out. That's custom map territory!

Loads of info in my thread in my signature, including the full DIY engine rebuild. Take a gander.

Thanks Bill, I'll get over to yours for this I think. Bad experiences with garages over this way, but necessary for MOTs by end of this month.

Westy, cheers, had a read of the in depth PCV catch can fit. Will look at your thread as well once I get some time on my side this weekend. Ta!

This little lot buddy;

Pagid disks all round. Ds2500s up front. Mintex rear pads and ATE super blue fluid.

Will feed back!
