Has anyone used one of these intercoolers before?

You might aswell go for the wellycooler.it will be cheaper and future proof you if you ever want more power

Looks like a copy of the ah v1, id just buy the welly cooler, its bigger, better and will leave you with change rather than buying that.

Ok cool, does the wellycooler use the SMIC as well as a front mount?..

Its an AH v1/Forge copy by the looks... slightly deeper core (70mm rather than 62mm)

No use for hybrids and big turbos but like the AH v1 and Forge ok for stage1/2... but... I am personally of the opinion that these types of coolers with 50/51mm inlets are no longer needed considering the alternatives out there now.. the larger welly/kev cooler is known to fit and the AH v2 is 380+vat IIRC so it makes this particular cooler a more expensive alternative to the welly/kev cooler whilst being less affective or only a little cheaper than a decent aftermarket FMIC like the AH v2..

As I have said in reply to a post in the FMIC thread I am now struggling to see the benefits of these types of FMIC's with the small pipework over wat is now available... even buying a welly/kev cooler and getting someone like Bill to change the ends to 60/63mm bends would arguably be comparative price wise and better overall performance...

The core looks ok but just can no longer see the point of the small pipework...

Thanks for the info mate, Yeah I read somewhere that the wellycooler uses the SMICs too lol clearly I was wrong :p is there anyone I can buy a complete wellycooler kit from then? I'm really not ***** about keeping the fog lights and would prefer the nice shiny pipe work showing instead B)

Stickies :)

All info is there... its not a kit as its a universal cooler but parts lists and places to buy are all documented there... its so we don't have to repeat ourselves all the time :icon_thumright:

Ben you can keep the fogs i did, and i used 76-63mm reduceing elbows :).

I have a Wellycooler also well it should be called a Andrew/Kev cooler lol as i had mine well before welly fitted his lol

Ok, maybe I'm being stupid, but I find no mention of where to get the wellycooler from in the stickies... :S I've been looking in here...

http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-...ah-fab-ebay-forge-s3-fmic-image-heavy-16.html

But can't find what the wellcooler consists of... Core, piping etc.

The stickies are sooo confusing :S especially this time of night after 3 hours at the PC researching lmao -_-

Lots of people asking for fmic's that retain fogs and grills, has no one seen my install!? I swear I uploaded plenty of pictures. Anyway, its tidy, cheap, and very effective and future proof.

People should keep an eye out for Rhubarbs wellycooler install, it will be hard to beat.
