Fitted front S3 brakes last night along with stainless steel hoses, they seem to bleed up fine but then driving there's no pedal until you pump it a few times then the pedal comes back. then after a few minutes of not pressing the pedal its gone again. I Bled it up again this morning to no joy still. I've even tried black bleeding them still not joy.

Anyone had the same problems or know why this is happening. there appears to be not leaks and the callipers i bought were recondition from the guy i bought them off.

Cheers

Jamie

Dont need to as im only fitting standard S3 brakes was told dont need to upgrade untill you move to the RS3 set up

Bigger piston so your going to notice a slight increase in travel.
My mate fitted S3 calipers to his ED30(it has the bigger master cylinder) and still noticed an increased pedal travel.

The brake don't work on first press of pedal at all can't be master cylinder problem to me

try a vacuum bleeder if you havent already, makes life alot easier.

Just a quick update. No master cylinder need. Just wernt bled up properly, needed to turn caliper upside down and then bleed then. All sorted don't notice a pedal problem at all.

So you have the calipers on upside down?? The bleed nipple should always be on the top so no need to turn upside down.

This way round.

Can you take another pic of the caliper slightly higher up to see the pipe connections, as my pipes won't reach

Some 17's fit as these brakes also came on the V6 sport.

What do you mean - "some". All of the OEM should fit, if one kind fits :D Looking at the pictures and judging by the caliper-to-rim distance majority of 17" should fit... If I ever encounter such a possibility I will aim at upgrade :)

These are, in my opinion, the nicest OE wheels that will fit over the S3 sized brakes.

Yeah I've got those on my winter setup, but don't like them too much on white car...

Would you need to change MC for brembo 4 pots?
Depends on piston size, pm DaveB1970 he can tell you & supply you EXACTLY what you need based on your budget,
R8 rear brakes(which are brembo 4 pots) I believe are supposed to give SUPERB results without changing MC,
Of course that is only 1 of LOADS of options Just like everything else,it all depends how much you want to spend :(

Thanks for the info

Jambo, any comment on braking performance with the S3 kit now fitted?

Interested to hear whether it lives up to your expectations.

I can defiantly feel a difference. But haven't had a chance to test them properly. I also need to to do the rears as well at some point .
