Hi all,

Been offered a single mass flywheel conversion when I get my clutch done - as I understand it the dmf is dual to minimise vibration. What vibration? engine, through the steering, gear stick?

How bad will it be if it's a smf, what should I be expecting? Obviously it's a lot cheaper getting a smf when getting the clutch done. Basically just asking the positives and negatives on this.

Btw not sure if there are any available on the market, but I know someone who works for a racing engine design company who has offered to design one for me.

Thank you in advance!

when and if i need to change any audi clutch and dmfw
i always go SMFW
never had any problems and caused no vibrations etc
you dont need 1 designing you can get them for more or less any car
what engine do you have ?

I have a B6 1.9 TDi 130.
Think they offered to design it as they would like to make their own and sell it, but if it's easier to just get one I'll just do that. What and where do you get yours from?

I would deffo get the solid flywheel - DMFs are useless, they were deisgned to reduce noise and emmissions at idle. You wont notice any difference with the solid mass version.

Out of interest - what was the quoted price of the parts?

Not sure on the price yet - as they want to use my car for the development I'm not sure my price will be the same as others. I will keep you updated on this if I decide to go with them, or if I just go for one already on the market.

Wouldn't say it's needed for the engine but if it's cheaper you might as well it'll last longer.
